Tambi Tea Plantation Wonosobo

Me, on the far right with two fellow teachers are in Tambi tea plantation, one of the main tea producers in Java Island in Indonesia. It exports 80 percent of its produce to foreign market.It was built by the Dutch colonials and now it is jointly run by the government and private company.

  • The black color of the tea is the result of drying process. There are many classes of tea and the lowest classes are sold to the household, while the higher quality is sold to the tea company to be resold and further processed.

  • Ha,I always thought,colour of tea leaves are black.
