Red Dragon Fruit

Originally native to Mexico, Central America, cultivated in Southeast Asia such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippine, Vietnam, in Australia, China, Taiwan, the US, etc. (info from wikipedia.org)

The plants can handle temperatures up to 40 °C but will not survive long exposure to freezing temperatures.

The taste is like a melon or 'kiwifruit', without sour, with a "mild sweetness".

This fruit is rich of anti-oxidant so that it is very good at preventing and curing cancer.

See dragon fruit is ready to be eaten in the comment below! I like eating dragon fruit as I eat watermelon. :D

Thank you! ^_^

  • Thank you, Roman. I wish myself, too, someday. ^^

Diah, okay....violet or purple. ^^ Sure, many people like you. They like the violet one.

  • First I tried white dragon fruit, I dont like it. Then I found a violet dragon fruit, and I love it. :D

  • Thank you, Onee!

I wish your sister to grow the great dragonfruits! :)

  • Hi Roman,

Weird... :D I feel relieved it's not scary.

I will call that 'prop'. Yes, it uses a set of prop to make it hang there. Just like you see in this blog. I just know how this plant grows in a big garden.

My sister just used a set of small cut wood for that, and it now still grows well.

Thank you for your comment and like. :)

  • Dear Mishaikh,

  • Hi Onee! :)

This fruit looks really interesting and weird!

But please tell me, how does it hang there? I mean, where it that hook or sprout, that fruit is attached to the plant by it?

  • I have seen this here in fruit/veg market.
