One of the best ways to learn about Nature is to start a leaf collection. It is an inexpensive hobby that can be carried out by all age group. You can collect leaves from gardens, parks and neighborhood area.Leaves can be dried and flattened between sheets of newspaper so all the moisture disappears. Then you can pasted in journals like chart papers and covered with plastic sheets.Collecting things can be joyful experience. • Oh really? You collect newspaper cuttings, dolls, stamps, coins, shells, pens, buttons, hair-clips and so on. I just wonder where do you save them. Hihi I mean you need a big place to save them all. I have my stamp collection to. I should take a picture and show it here.
  • Dear Mary, Plants and flowers collection nice too is in it.

Thank you Mary. I appreciate it.

  • Ada!! I didn't see your photo challenge before! What a nice hobby, I love it! ^_^

You have many different leaves there! But I wonder why you don't collect also other kind of plants and flowers :)

This reminded me a book of plants I made long time ago, there I also used to write down the name and family of the plant, to help me to remember and recognize that plant... But now I've forgotten almost all of them... I've so bad memory :(

Thanks a lot for sharing your beautiful hobby with us! ^_^

  • Thank you for sharing your collection of leaves, Adaline! This must have been a lovely activity for you. Your photo has reminded me about my visit in a botanical museum where I saw different species of plants and insects that were preserved for educational purposes. By the way, our hobbies regardless of their differences make us productive in some ways.

  • Aww, My Dear Elen, I am glad you liked my hobby. Leaf collections seems children's hobby is in it.

  • Oh, Adaline, what a nice hobby you have! Collecting leaves is interesting enough and I agree that you can learn about Nature from it. This specific book for the leaves I think is called herbarium or something like that. I have too. I collected some leaves when I was a kid and I still have it :)

Thanks for sharing your special hobby, I didn't expect something like this :))

P.S. I would like to see your collection with the dolls and hair-clips.
