  • Wow. Very nice!

Actually I have joined a challenge in Twitter (26 Books in a Year). I was doing great with reading in the first two months. I have read John Grisham's The Testament, Paulo Ceoloe's Eleven Minutes, and the The Notebook (I forgot the author's name, SORRY!). But then, I got busy with my work and lazy as well. However, I am reading Ahmed Deedat's The Choice, Islam and Christianity these days. It is the first time I am something religious, but I am enjoying it. It is so informative. And the style of it is intelligent.

To talk about the next books, They will be Mark Twain's Adventures of Tom Sawyer and then Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. I sometimes read things for children because I believe they were written to remind us of whom we were, and definitely they have a very important lesson for us.

  • wow sounds interesting..

I love reading novels too.Nowadays  I am enjoying the wattpad stories. I am a member of goodreads too but  I have difficulty find hard copies of many of the books I want in my country. I cant order them as well I have no facilities such as credit cards. So I read online copies. It's not as good as hard copies and not all the books are available so I take what I get.

some of the wattpad writers are really good even though they are not professionals , their stories worth reading :)

  • @VsaDarwisa It's great to hear that you are trying to read English novels! Have you thought about reading "The Hunger Games" series?

  • @Noaslpls Good luck! I haven't read the Dragon Tattoo trilogy, but I hear it's good. I'll add it to my list.

  • Hi Tara

I like reading books. They are my best friends. A few years back I can read two or three books in a month, but nowadays I'm lucky if I can finished off one book. But seems we have different tastes in books :D because I never come across any of those books in your lists. Currently I am reading Jo Nesbo's Nemesis. It's a bit long and really hard to absorb. I've read a few of his books. My interest in Jo Nesbo triggered by Steig Larson's the Melium (or aka The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo's Trilogy). I promised myself to finish this book by mid of this year.. by hook or crook. Wish me luck  :D

  • Hi Tara,

Thanks for sharing. Wow, this is really interesting! I have never read any of these books though. Well, when I decided to try reading English novel about 10 years ago, I had to find a book that really interest me to keep me motivated due to my weak comprehension. Then I found A Darker Dream by Amanda Ashley, a paranormal historical romance :-)... since then I enjoy only romance books. Last year my husband bought a Game of Throne book series and I promise him to read but I haven't yet. I think now is a good time for me to start reading those books:-)

  • @Nafis Sorry I missed your question. No, this is actually a real book club that I am in. I just wanted to share the books with all of you in case any of you wanted to read the same ones. Feel free to send me a message if you are reading along.

  • Dear Tara, do you talk about the book on moderated chat room? I tried to find a clue but I think I still don't know where I should be.

  • At the book club meeting last week we talked about The Sun Also Rises and The Paris Wife. Most of the women didn't get through Hemmingway's classic. I chatted about it with one other reader who enjoyed it. I really did appreciate the writing, even though it's not a book I would read again. This was my second time reading it, which may have helped me get through it. Most of the women enjoyed The Paris Wife which is written from the perspective of Hadley (Hemmingway's first wife). All in all it was a good meeting. I'm now enjoying Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet. The story itself is very interesting (about Japanese internment in Seattle), even though the writing isn't that great.

    What are you reading?

  • Hi Miley,

It will be great to have you join me on my reading journey this year. I'm in the middle of The Sun Also Rises now. It's interesting to me because I'm a writer, but it's not for everyone. The Paris Wife was excellent (but also interesting to me because it's about a writer).
