Motivational Calendar

One thing I do after setting a goal is print out a calendar page for my fridge. This recent one is called "Go Mama Go". I noticed that I was feeling unmotivated to jog recently. When I'm not jogging, I find it harder to write. I colour coded my calendar with instructions (at the bottom of my page). Each time I jog I circle the number with a red circle. Each time I do my other exercises I get a blue circle. I give myself a certain amount of days that I can miss in a time period. So, for example I can miss 7 days total in a 7 week calendar. You can do this for practising English, blogging, recording the news, learning vocabulary etc. The simple act of drawing a circle or checkmark on a calendar can motivate you to achieve your goal. This works for me! What works for you?

  • There is a show called Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition. It's very motivating, even if your challenge is something other than losing weight.

  • The buddy system is much better for me and I use this one more often...but nearly all the times I'm an initiator....but I'd like to be the follower...What about a "health kick"...the best motivator in this case are my scales...they motivate me pretty well....

  • You really have to find what works for you. One method may work one year, but not another year. The buddy system usually works for me too. If I need to go on a "health kick", I know exactly which friend to enlist.

  • I used to have such motivating calendar....But it didn't work in my case....if I don't want to do anything.....

But I do love the title of your calendar....

  • Wow .. That's good way! You struggle with self-discipline. Thanks for sharing!

  • It's very convenient!

  • I could just use such a calendar!
