According to Deli Malay Legend the cannon was an incarnation of Putri Hijau’s (Green Princes) younger brother from Deli Tua Kingdom named Mambang Khayali whom transformed himself into a cannon when there was a war between Deli Tua Kingdom and Aru (Aceh) kingdom. Mambang Khayali transformed himself into cannon to defend the palace from the attack of Aceh’s king whose proposal was rejected by Putri Hijau.Because of the cannon keep firing continuously which made the cannon very hot; the cannon finally broke into two part. The top part of the cannon was flew in the air and fell in the Sukanalu village, Barus Jahe Tanah Karo. And the other part is kept in the small wooden house on the right side of the Maimoon Palace.
