  • Also, I forgot to say that tongue twisters only help if you have someone to listen to your pronunciation from time to time. You can practice bad pronunciation with tongue twisters and only make your bad habits worse. :)
  • I think tongue-twisters are more of a game than something to help you pronounce better. But it depends. I do recommend tongue-twisters for the advanced students to refine their pronunciation once they have leaarned the basics of pronunciation. Beginners and some intermediates do not benefit as well from these games. They are too difficult for someone when they are first learning how to pronounce. I think they are difficult for native English speakers, so why teach lower level students with these methods?
I do have some tongue twisters commonly used by Americans for games and fun. However I also made some of my own for advanced students. I have one for Asians, one for middle easterners and one for Spanish-speakers. They are not easy but do provide practice for sounds that are difficult to pronounce well for each group.
  • Hi Xirora. You are as young as my youngest daughter, she was born in 1983, she graduated in France and now working there. Yes, we are different but we are still friends if you'd like. I'm a friend of many of my children's friends, they told me I'm an interesting friend :-) I was born in 1952, but i feel still young inside. Don't worry about your English, keep go on learning, don't care much about the improvement, after a while, you will find your English is much better, just like me :-) I learned English at high school, when i was young, but i didn't use it for more than 40 years. Then I had a chance to go abroad, i reckoned i would need English for my trip, so i restarted to learn it again. At first, I found it was too difficult to learn English at my age, specially at Vocabulary, you see, i had a poor memory for remembering and increasing new words. But after all i'm a strong woman, i didn't care about spending a lot of time to learn, I had to consult a dictionary many many time to remember a new word, and finally I found i could read, write, speak and hear some English. I'm very good at reading, because i spent plenty of time to read. I enjoy reading and enjoy learning English, so I read English books :-) Am I a talkative person? :-)
  • I'm 56 years old. I have 4 childrens, 2 daughters and 2 sons. All of them are graduated, independent and nice to me. I'm quite a lucky person :-), My husband and I retired from work a couple of years ago, now I enjoy having the freedom to do exactly as i liked. Could you tell me something about you?
  • i can read your comment now :-) Thank you for liking to be my friend. I'd like to make friends with you very much, but can we chat on Yahoo, could i have your yahoo ID?
