As amatter of fact, i wonderd what is the basic pace toward speaking english fluently.immediatly, i rememberd greate course in my university enabled me to enrich my vocabs.now let us begin with providing you by these methods.what is the prefix and suffix?. the prefix usually changes the meaning of the word, while s suffix usually changes its part of speech. still ambigous?okay, here you go these examples, the suffix -able changes verbs into adjactives. such as enjoy as a verb. so if you add -able, it will be changed to adjactive, it becomes enjoy+able=enjoyable. but the prefix has another issue.the prefix has crucial role in recognizing or guessing the meaning of the word.let us take uderstand, understand means to grasp sth/get it. if you put mis- at the beginning. what is going to happen?. absoultly, it will change the meaning of the word. mis+understand=misunderstand, so it is changed from getting sth to unable to understand. so, mis- here gave a negative meaning.now i will give the list of some prefixes ,its meanings and examples.PREFIX/ AREA OF MEANING /EXAMPLES1-ante- before /antecedent2-anti- against, oppsite /antibiotic,antisocial3-auto- self /autobiography4-bi- tow,twice/ bilingual5-circum- around /circumstance6-con,co,col,com- with, togather /combine,co-education7-counter- in opposition to /counterattack8-de- down, reversing /dehumanize9-dis- negative /disagree10-ex-,e- out, from /external11-hyper- extremely /hyperactive12-inter- between, among /interfere,itertextuality13-macro- large /macrocosm14-micro- small /microscope15-mal- bad, badly /malfunction16-mini- little, small /minimarket17-mis- wrong, unfavorable /mistreat18-mono one, alone /monotone19-multi- many /multicolored20-non- no,not /nonsense21-pan- all, worldwilde /pan-american22-post- behind, after /postmodern23-pre,prim first, before /primary,previous24-re- again, back /rewrite,revise25-semi- half /semi-final26-sub,sup uder /subconcious,suppression27-trans- across /transform,transatlantic28-tri- three /triangle,tricycle29-uni- one, single /uniform,unicorn30-un,im,in,ir- negative,no /uncomfortable,inappropriate,irregular31-ultra- beyond, excessive /ultraviolet,ultrasound32-vice- deputy /vice dean, vicepresidentthats it for this session, i hope to enjoy in my group and add to you sth new.thanks all, student at university of jordan, jamal alqhaiwi
