  • Great points ....I enjoyed reading your ideas ...
Taking a bath before going to bed ,or even within some hours before bed is really helpful ...
You know once I read or heard somewhere that if you have had some quarrel during the day ,you'd better put an end to it before going to bed ...sleep helps memories stick to your mind;thus that bad memory will be more difficult to be gotten rid of ...Maybe it is not that related to our topic ,but sort of it can be related ...
An investigation has proved that couples who observe that simple rule ,that is ,they set peace before they go to bed ,tend to have a more successful and lasting life together ...
    Anyway ,
Thanks a lot for taking part in the discussion here...
    Have a peaceful time ...

When I was a young woman I didn't need much sleep. Or that is what I thought. I didn't notice how irritable I could be . I didn't notice how sometimes the quality of work I did was effected. I survived on 5 hours! Now, being older and wiser I realized i was stupid. Doctors and scientists know that sleep, and getting enough of it is vital to your physical and mental health.
When I am anxious, unhappy, and having other strong emotions I find it very hard to sleep. One day, after a week-long battle to get to sleep before 1am or 2 am worrying over my job and the problems that didn't seem to have answers and weeping over it-I realized that I wasn't getting paid to solve the problems at work on my own time. At home, there wasn't anything I could do about those problems, and I needed to separate myself from my job when I left for the day and not bring the worries home. I realized it was more important for me to put a balance to my life and one of the important parts of that was sleeping better.I prepared myself for sleep, by turning on my bedside lamp, pulling the covers down, turning off the t.v. so I didn't watch programs that were mentallally stimulating and substituted soothing quiet music. Occassionally I would have a bath with lavender soap before bed to sooth aches and pains that might keep me awake.

Soon, I found that I was looking forward to this quiet time to unwind from a busy day.

sleep doctors also say to dim the lights in the evening, and to keep the bedroom dark and not too warm or too cold.

If you have a husband who snores-well, sleeping will not be easy. If you live in a noisy neighborhood with traffic noises; sleep will be difficult. There are little machines with what is called "white noise" a non-irritating mono-tone noise that masks outside noise. For some people that is helpful if there is distracting noise keeping them awake.

Doctors are also suggesting not going to bed hungry. A little snack may help some people sleep. Maybe a cookie or a sandwich and milk. I like yogurt.

This is some of the things I do.
