  • Hi my dear friends

I should thank you for your helpful sayings about lectures.

    I’m so happy…

I could have the best according to that.

    Really thanks.

  • I had one last Sunday, but it was not the first one. I mean, I used to have a small speech since I was in the elementary school, and I enjoyed doing this and I still do. Surely, the all speeches I had in schools are not compared to the ones I do at university, especially the last one. All speeches before were in Arabic, my mother language, but the last one was in English. I had to talk about Jane Austen, the English writer, and one of her novels, Pride and Prejudice. I had made some small mistakes, of course, but I think I was pretty good with the feedback comments of the audience including one of my teachers.

What I recommend you to do, as a professional one hahaha :-> , is that you should have the deep confidence inside your heart. You should say this sentence aloud "Everything will be terrific, and I will succeed" over and over to yourself. You can't imagine the power of this small sentence. Then, practice saying the speech alone in your room, with or without a mirror ;). You should search for the subject that you will represent in order to answer any question you may face. Finally, while you are presenting, feel relaxed and convince yourself that you are talking in front of your friends. For me, I walk little bit while I am talking, this makes me feel comfortable. And let me don't forget my hand's movement and my body's gesture :) All of these things help me to dodge being nervous.

I know that all speeches I had entire my life may not be compared to yours now, but I wanted to share my owns. They may help in someway. So, good luck, my chum :)

    • “In the name of God”

It is the first sentence that we must say at the first of our speech. This sentence can be in every way that you think is more beautiful and can have more effect according to your audience and the subject of your speech. For example a literary lecture can have different kinds of that. Whatever you say it louder it will help you more to have the best speech.

And also we should consider our audience as our guest who come to listen to our speech. Then it is very important to have a good greeting (welcoming).

As Darius said, smile has a magic power. I tried it. It has really strong power, so please try to have it certainly.

What our friends sent in this topic was very useful for me. I suggest that read them certainly.

And finally, at the end of our speech, we must thank all of audience. If they are from different groups for example masters and students it is better that we have seprate thank. (In the first masters and then students) It shows that you have enough information about them.

We hope that you will have the best.

    • As a magical power the most important thing to start is " smile " as well as it is the best thing to end your speech.

Try it please then you will find out what I am saying .

    • "Everything will be terrific, and I will succeed"

      Thank you dear Skoon!

You aren’t professional one?! But, professional done!

I know well that you didn’t dedicate only some minutes of your time to me for answering this question. It also includes the time that you pass it for achieving these worth experiments. So it is very valuable for me.

    • LadY!

      Hi!!

      Nice seeing you again :)

Thank you so much dear lady. There are some good points in your comments. Being relax and ready are really important that you showed me some ways for it, of course as you said without paying attention to external meaning.

I also heard that the persons who encourage you much more than others in the end of your speech, they had listened less than others to your speech!

      Propranolol?!

      What is it?

      Is it a drug?!

      (My major isn’t like you!)

  • Let me ask

What are you going to do lecture about ?

    Who are audiences?

How much do you believe in the topic which you are going to talk about ?

Is there anything to make you nervous there ?

and some other questions like that

    • Oh!!

      Thank you!

Yes, you are right. The first thing is defining the frame that I had forgotten it!

It’s a science subject and there are some persons there who will grade.

      How much do I believe?

I don’t know really, because it’s a science subject and maybe its grade is more important for me.

The audience can be every person who is interested in that subject and also we can invite our friends.

About nervousness: Every thing that I don’t have enough information about will make me nervous, specially about some places or situations that I want to be there for the first time that I don’t have enough information about.

So, for solving the problem about nervousness, the information must be increased.
