Hello friends,

I'm one of those who really want to improve his/her speaking skill. My current situation is.. I don't have much confidence in my speech. But I'm really aware that, unless, I become brave and go out, find a learning/speaking partner and speak, my goal to be fluent would be just in vain. I know you can sympathize on me on this one, right?

So, what am I looking for in a partner? Well, I don't have any qualifications just want him/her as a committed and enthusiastic in working our way to improvement because I'm only just a learner, too. And I would like, as much as possible,  a long time learning partner until we both reach our target goals.

I'm very interested in creating plans and evaluating our progress.

So here's my suggestions and plans:

1. Devote 30 min to 1 hour of practicing..(target practice 4 times a week or more)

2. Use resources like "This week in history" (for Monday) and "Weekly News" (for Tuesday)...you can suggest other resources for the topic for the day.)

--In skype: We will read the article aloud. Retell the story in our own words. Exchange questions and answers as many as we can about the article or story.

3. For Wednesday and Thursday, we can devote it for our pronunciation, intonation, etc...ex. listen to audio files which have a conversation of native speakers and we will try to imitate them.

4. The rest of the week? It's for the allowances, so that we have ample time to talk freely anything and everything under the sky, sun and moon.:)

...I am open for any suggestion to get our learning fun and interesting so we can try any ideas that we can come up with. The schedules above are not fix. We can readjust the time to suit for both of us.

Information about me:

--I think I'm in intermediate level, but in speaking I'm still a newbie.

--My time: GMT+8, mostly available at night

--female, country: Philippines

...So my friend if you are someone, who would like and prefer scheduled study time that I mentioned above, please send a message to me in my page or in my inbox and let's rev up our engine towards our aim.

Thank you and happy learning!

mayumee :)

    • Hello Ben,

Thank you very much for responding. And thanks for accepting my request in skype.

I agree with the method you mentioned. It's very helpful. I actually following this method, too. I download English materials and I listen to it repeatedly.

By the way, I checked out the link and I think it's really a wonderful site for personal development. I personally keep Napoleon's Hill book, "Think and Grow Rich"..such an amazing book, isn't it?!

      Best regards,
