I would like to talk about the second right which is about not to discriminate. Two or three days ago, Royal Family including Prince of England and his wife came to Canada for a visit. The Canadian government was so worried if people go to see the prince or not and they interviewed people in the streets if they go or not. Most people said they do not care to welcome the prince arrival and it is not very important for them at all. My question is why we should respect some people more than others? If all are equal, so they are like others too. Therefore, why do people go and show their respect for them?Isn't it some kind of discrimination?Cheers,Nafis

  • Hi Nafis!
I think we can't denied our admiration for royalty, fame, people that is different to us, different in the way of life, look, talent. In this case is political, they represent their country as many other famous people do it for their own country, an ex president, a religious person, a singer, an artist. Discrimination is both ways in many cases, some people discriminate people that don't have their own believes, others because of race. We humans most of the time think that whatever we do is right and we find reason to believe this is true. We should tolerate more others people enjoyments if we want them to tolerate us. I can assure you that you will find all kind of points of view about this matter. Like Hardi said "it's human nature".
    Thank you for your post.

  • Hi dear Nafis
Answer of your question is so hard ,on the whole i agree ,it is a kind of discriminate.
but i think it is tradition and custom in all of the world .increasing of awareness and high culture help to disappear this kind of discriminate.but the governments search their political goals on the behind of this story.they want to people pay attention to this events , perhaps they can get more benefit from this attention of people.
    have great time
  • Hi dear Nafis ,
you know such work is because of stupidity , they think with great respect to such powerful and reach people they will have some benefits , but they don't think to those people aims , i think if those people want to give some benefits to some people they would want some greatest benefits , for example if they give 1$ they will want 10$ instead of that .
but Nafis even me sometimes discriminate between some people and i don't know it is good or bad because discrimination is base word and it has so many aspects , for example in my workplace i have better friendship with people who they have not strong religious ideas than the people who they have ,
what is your idea about it ?
    cheers

  • Hello Nafis,
To answer your question, I don't think we should respect some people more than others because,to my opinion, respect is not something that is freely deserved, even for a royal family, a first minister or the pope ! To be respected, people need to be respectable.

Therefore, why do people go and show their respect to them ? Is it respect that they show, or is it just curiosity ? I am wondering ...
  • No need to extend human rights and equality too far, it will get into stupidity.. or actually it might be stupidity from the very beginning, because humans are (IMHO) sure too stupid. :P

There's many celebrities discriminated by fans. There are many humans who have a need for existence of celebrities... so they exist by nature's self regulation or something.

Well it's all about humans nature. You can't change human nature without going against human rights.
  • in my opinion discriminatain is the instinct of the nature and the society.always we behold the weak & the powerful ,poor and rich ,well-known and unknown.... so we are unable to change but we can be a judgmatic human about others and our enviroment.
    thanks you Nafis
  • Hi Nafis,
It's a new issue 4 me.I didnt pay attention to it at all.Of course this regard can be considered as an approval a Royal Family by people& in other cases approval a government, idea
party, etc. It depends on tradition & custom in every society. When we would like to show our acceptance of something, may it seems like a discrimination(like what u said).Of course I believe that sometimes we should change incorrect traditions.
    However,it's an interesting matter.Tnx & have a great time!
