be a thing of the past : to describe something is no longer used because of the certain change; to be something that does not exist or happen any more

 

Examples:

1. With more and more people using digital cameras to take pictures; having photos developed at a photo center is becoming a thing of the past.

 

2. In this company, paper memos are a thing of the past; all information is distributed through the Internet.

 

3. The new tunnels allow drivers to go quickly through the mountains; driving along the base of the mountains will soon become a thing of the past.

  • to send ur mail by post is being a thing of the past , all people now send mail through ingternet
    • No need for the word "being". You can just say "Sending mails by post is a thing of past"
