  • Good evening, teacher!I am sorry to be late for this comment.

About the love lock on the bridge,on my opinion,it's a very romantic scene. If I have a chance to go to Paris,I will go there and lock one.But according to the news, these locks have threaten the security of the bridge and the passing boats. Many citizens signed a petition to protect the bridge. Some think it should be forbidden. I think it has been a attractive and meaningful scene in Paris,so we can take steps to improve it.Like firm the bridge or others. It has been something witted the love and the time.We can carefully make it better. :)

  • Hello, teacher. For lovers in use on the bridge the padlock this way to express the affection between each other, I think this is a very meaningful way. However, the negative effects of this way is undeniable. Doing so will aggravate the damage of the bridge. I think, should be looking for another kind of meaningful way to replace the traditional, best can bring good influence to the environment. Looking forward to seeing you.

    • Thank you, Zhou Yuqi ... I'm happy to learn that some of my students wouldn't mind to see me again! Of course, I am also looking forward to see my students (my Class 12 students too) as I always miss them when there is no class (that is the truth!). :)

Yes, I agree; maybe they should find another way of expressing their love. One of my Class 12 students suggested they plant 'love' trees! At least it would be more environmentally friendly. :)

  • Hello, teacher.I have listened the news about the love lock. I think the love lock is unnecessary for the lover  whose love is true even though it is unique  for  couples. And the locks will disturb the senery of the bridge. So in my view,it is a good idea to quit the lock on the bridge.

    • CC, so what will you do one day to romantically express your love for your lover/bf? Or what would you allow him to do to express his love romantically to you?! Why does China sound so unromantic?! Oh, and I don't think the scenery on the bridge is worse now; those locks actually make the bridge look better with more character! See the pictures I have posted above. :)

  •       Good evening, teacher.  I have heard the new about the Love Lock Ritual May End in Paris.  I known lovers attach padlocks to the bridge and throw the key into the River in order to  express their love for each other.  I think that it is a symbol that their love will never change. It is romantic.

    • Linlin, you didn't 'hear' the news, you 'listened' to the news as that is what this exercise is about!

  • Hellow,John.I am sorry it is so late that I have a comment for this time. Please forgive me. I have lisition the news. There are too many locks on the bridge to express their love.I have to say I love this way.It is really so romantic. It remain me a place that THE NAN SHAN TOWER in Korea. There are many locks, too.Every lovers go there to buy a lock. And if I have a girlfriend I will use this way to express my love.Enjoy yourself .Goodbye.

    • Wang Shuaitian, are you sure that Nan Shan tower is in Korea? Is it not in Taiwan? Btw, there can be many other ways too to express one's love in a romantic way; one must just be creative and innovative!

  • 2394003426?profile=originalYou mean, the 'weight' of those padlocks have increased to 93 tons? Yes, that is a lot! But I learned that the average weight of an elephant is around 2 tons (about 2000 kg's). So, that means then that 93 tons would equal to about 46 elephants ..! Haha, it doesn't really matter, does it?! :)
