  • minimal pairs /ɑ:/ and /ɜ:/

    /ɑ:/  as  in  “fast

    /ɜ:/  as  in  “first

I’ve pronounced the pairs with universally accepted British RP.

    • Hi Gabriel,

      Welcome :)))

Studying with you, very fantastic really,

    • Hi Selma!

Thank you for your warm welcome. Actually, I saw you as a lone visitor when I dropped by earlier..! So, I decided to keep you company while waiting for one or more other club members walk in. ;-)

Meantime, I realized that Tara’s minimal pairs /ɑː/ and /ɜː/ could prove useful if somone pronounces the pairs for others to listen and learn. Thus, I volunteered myself and did enjoy doing itdrawing a distinction between the two phonemes. It was fun..!!

Ok, I’ll be seeing you, Selma!

      Regards,
