  • Semantics refer to law of understanding. If you can understand things then it is ok. But in Syntax it is refer to basic rules and principal that provide the understanding.

    For example:

    The colour of this rose is red. -> Now you see that it follows proper meaning, vocabulary and grammar rules.

    Rose is red or red rose -> Not every rose's colour is red. but you consider it, the rose we are holding is red. 

    Syntax -> rules of proper grammar/vocabulary

    Semantics -> meaning of a sentence. (usually we talk about this in computer programme).
