ok, if i end a sentence with something in parentheses that has punctuation, should i still end the sentence with punctuation?
example: i just texted a friend "maybe i'll even get some sleep tonight (what a concept!)."
but, see? that period at the end looks out of place.
but at the same time, i just want to emphasize what's in the parentheses, not the whole sentence.
thoughts?
