I live in Uzbekistan and don't trust local education system :) And in the "tests for those who are going to enter the University" I've found a sentence:
"...and she developed bad impression on them..." is it possible in English to say so?
It does seem to be a word by word translation from Russian language.

As a native English speaker, I understand what the phrase means, however, it would be better to say:
"... and she made a bad impression (on them is not necessary)".
