  • Hard question for me though! Haha. I can say that I'm really bad of controlling my emotions which my mood swings so fast within a minute. Lmao.

  • well, call me crazy but I think to 'control emotions' has a lot to do with repression... Or at least more than killing someone in a "crime of passion" for not being able to control your psychopath self.

But okay, maybe it's more easy to explain this if I give you a plot: Imagine you're at your dad's funeral and you don't wanna cry 'cause you don't wanna show that you're vulnerable, weak, sensitive, whatever... And also 'cause you don't want your mom to see you crying 'cause you think that's gonna add more pain to her grief. So you think you've there a good reason to 'control your emotions' and keep calm. But as far as I know, human beings don't have the super power of reading minds too developed yet, so your family and mom just know that they didn't see you crying at your dad's funeral and that could lead them to think that maybe you're too cold, or too insensitive or that you didn't care enough etc. And even yourself, in a near future, might feel bad for that decision of repressing your tears and not to cry at the very moment you really needed to. At the end, to 'control your emotions' there just lead to confusion.

I'm not saying with this how is the 'right way to behave'; there're are not 'rights' or 'wrongs' here and each of us express our feelings how we want/know... but personally, I prefer clear people whom I don't need to read their minds to know how they feel.

  • Erm... no worries, still I can control my drooling 'cause I don't suggest lobotomy for me, but for ppl who want to 'control emotions'. I'm more the "let's drive crazy" kind.

I assume here we are not psychos and we're 'mentally healthy' people who is not gonna kill anybody for not to hold their emotions, so that's why I go along with Luci and I think is good to feel free to express your feelings... That will save you money for hearing a shrink telling you about repression :P

Can't go with you on that one Luci, there's a time and place for emotions.
Think of all the bad things which occur when we allow our emotions to get the better of us..... Thinking in particular of crimes of passion.

And, well Mary, may i suggest you get your doctor to prescribe some Hyoscine for your drooling, it also has the wonderful side effect of hallucinations.
