I'm a little bit uncertain about "get" and "become"
Would you write:
1. Birthdays get better and better the older you get
or
... the older you become.

I would say "... the older you get".
The verb "to get" has two main meanings:
1) to have, to receive, to obtain
2) to become (especially in connection with adjectives)
