I often hear adult people say, "They are just kids, they don't know what is right or wrong."

"You should watch out them closely, they can't distinguish wrong actions and right actions."

But I am really curious if the kids know right or wrong...I think they do. What do you say?

  • Kids only know what they are taught. If we don't teach them what is right they can't know by themselves.
    • Thanks, dear Bob for your nice comment!

I am curious... Don't they have their own discerning abilities?

Have a great day, dear Bob! ;-)

  • hmmm, thanks for your detailed explanation! I got you now! =)

  • of course they do....nowadays kids know more than we can even imagine, they just pretend they dont know what is wrong, because all the sweet and dangerous things in this life are considered to be wrong, thats why they do wrong then they say they didnt know it was wrong....(like me, i do know what wrong can much chocolate do for me...but i cant refuse of it, every morning i eat one chocolate with coffee....knowing that its not that much good or right, but i cant keep me from doing wrong lol)

    • Giggling, thanks for your good comment, dear Bia!

nowadays kids know more than we can even imagine, I do agree with it.

  • Deepa, first of all, thanks for sharing me with your nice idea. Second, I agree with you kid need adults' leading. Third, I have a question for you, kids get to know things by experiencing themselves is not wrong, yes? At least their motivation is ok.

    Thank you!

  •  As for me, I think the matter of wrong or right is up to the atmosphere where kids in which raised to differ between wrong or right actions. The family plays vital role in making kids learn the good behaviour or be used to doing the bad things as if they are right things ,in another words, kids follow the memebers of family

    in many actions done by.

    • Hmmm, kids like to immitate the family members and others friends.

Thanks for your good comment! I appreciate your view. =)

  • Many researches indicates that kids are not mature enough to distinguish an action is wrong or right. Perhaps in some cases they can but I think it is just in clear or simple events. That's why normally under age 16, children or juveniles are not liable for criminal actions they make because of the incompleteness of their cognition.

I understand that you are justifying for kids' right, that's absolutely true when sometime adults don't respect or disregard kids' abilities then they easily come to a conclusion that kids/juveniles unknown about actions they do. In my opinion, this is totally a wrong communication from adults. They don't know that an action considered to be wrong or right will depend on a lot of criteria or to what it is referred.
