With a great pleasure I am attempting to write about one of the most mervellous books I've ever read.

A love story and what a love story it is! It engenders paradoxes; Love VS Pride.

This story is taken from the great Novel written by one of the most popular English writers Jean Austen.

In my opinion, it is not only a typical story of the English society of that time but also it reflects what is our hiden reality of societies nowadays...

The film has been shortened because of the lack of time, supposed to tell the story of a modest family The Bennets' where live five daughters faced with the reality that there is no other opportunity for them, no open doors except Marriage!!!

This is the opening of the writer " It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife"

The Bennets' looking for husbands for their daughters and how they are trying to involve them in the noble class through attending dinners and festivities of the high society....

Elisabeth the heroine was swamped by the coming of two men of good fortune in her life. She was adimiring one and having prejudices towards the other Mr Bingley who is supposed to be the hero and will finally deserve her love after long sruggles between love, pride and prejudice......

Between the two her heart balanced; a man with sweet words but will be known later on as someone not truthful, and the proud man who when needed she could rely on him.

Very interesting mixture of social and emotional happenings in an extraordinary style of writing..

I liked the film, too but the novel is more rich of exciting moments....

I hope I've succeeded to make you love it and I wish you will have the opportunity to read the novel or at least watch the film.

Thank you for reading me.

Great story.. once i saw the movie about Jean Austin and it is sad.. she not be able to be together with her love one..

  • Hi nebia,
    Great post!
So, we're talking about a masterpiece by Jane Austen, a well-known English writer. Do you know the other novels by the author? How about the novel Emma?
Did you read it? I enjoyed reading the whole book.
As for Pride and Prejudice, I really want to see the film. And I've heard of a TV series version of it. It will also be a treat to watch it on TV.
    Keep it up!
