When I look around in my country I can see many fat, obese people who resigned to healthy lifestyle or have never heard of it and who thanks to no movement and junk food gain day by day. In my opinion obesity started being worldwide problem and it is weird paradox that meanwhile in one part of our planet people are dying of starving, somewhere else they voluntarily decided to shorten their life by being obese.

As far as I am concerned obesity might even kill and it seems to me that many people underestimate this fact and persuade themselves that it can't happen to them. There are so many health problems obese people suffer from starting with high blood pressure and ending with heart dissease and vessel problems, so that's why we should be alert and should be able to recognize when there is high time to start fighting against fat hidden under our skin. Some people opose that obesity is dissease - well, if it is symptom of some illness then of course it is but if it is just a sign of laziness, then I won't ever understand how they can consider it dissease.

Why am I talking about this all? I personally reduced 20 kg (44 lb) one year ago because after second pregnancy I somehow got stuck, enjoyed motherhood and didn't have so much time for myself. I even almost reached the stadium of low obesity and it scared me a lot, so now you can see why I consider this topic close to me. However, I can be thankful to my smart brain, which one day turned on some alerting tone and announced: Enough!!! Unfortunately, not all people are like this because one friend of mine is more than 100 kg (220 lb) and she is  satisfied with her body.

Without doubt we live hectic life and modern life style makes everything easier and faster. Instead of walking we use cars and bikes, instead of going upstairs we use lifts and kids instead of going outside and enjoying some games like football or playing hide and seek sit in front of the computer. From above mentioned examples is obvious that we lack of movement and these who aren't able to realize it might end up as obese.

Without hesitation we can say that obesity is also one big business, which is supported by chains like McDonald, KFC or Pizza Hut and we all know they offer junk food and as for quality one doubt it too after latest affairs. If people would think more about what they eat, would try to follow healthy lifestyle, these chains would go bankrupt one day.. however, we prefer supporting them and don't care about the most important thing we have - our health.

In my opinion some people are lazy and they can make hundreds of excuses why they won't reduce their weight, which is so sad. Others are not lazy but not motivated enough, so I wish at least these people would find some energy to start and to change their lives. If we all would think properly about our lifestyle, about choosing some sport activity we would do three times a week, if we were examples for our kids, if we better went for trip instead of roaming around the mall, then obesity would slowly but certainly one day almost disappear but.. this sounds more like a fairy-tale..

  • Excellent post! I shared your problem after my second pregnancy. I lost too much weight. I think this is a problem, too.

Re corrections: Check the definition of "resign to something". Then see if you can find a better way to express what you mean in your first sentence.

English Tip: "I personally lost 44 lbs..." (rather than "reduced")

  • @Luzzi

The word "lack" is often used incorrectly; however, we do use "lack in" and "lack of" in English:

to be lacking in something: Presently, I am lacking in sleep.

to have a lack of something (used as a noun): I am suffering from lack of sleep.

and also used as a verb: I lack sleep.

In your example, you are using it as a verb, so it should be "lack movement".

  • Yes, It's one of the biggest concern nowadays. To keep my fitness I always prefer walking, I must say, I love it!

  • Luzzi, I don't mean it is silly or trivial issue. The problem you come across realize much better than those who never experienced. It was siily of me not to have put these kind of issues into my observation yet. Thank you for bringing it to our knowledge.
  • Saeed,
the title of the blog should be like this - and i dont concider it the biggest problem i just talked from own experience in my country. Every country face different problems, for you it is maybe silly but here in few years m sure it will be big problem since even kids are obese nowadays.

Thanx for your tips, to drink water is very important because it makes the metabolism faster as far as i know.

  • Is it biggest problem? Thank God for blessing ideal figure without so much effort :)

Well, when I used to play cricket, fitness and stamina were at my top priority. In order to keep myself fit, I follow some rules, which are as under:-
    A) not to drink water after having food till 30 minutes.
    B) not to lay down just after eating food.
    C) drink water as much as possible.
    D) I love walking a lot.
    C) avoid going restaurants for lunch or dinner.
    F) wash my clothes on weekend by myself.

    These are things I do
Thank for sharing it with us
