Writing Challenge: The Land of My Birth

I was born in Taiwan, a small but very pretty country. Many people probably don't know where Taiwan is,or even ,they think Taiwan is part of mainland China.Um.....,I try not to mention that. It's definitely a political and controversial issue. However,I love my country, being proud of a Taiwanese girl, because Taiwan is also the country where I grew up .

In the capital of Taiwan, named Taipei, there has the tallest building called "Taipei 101".It used to be the highest building all over the world ,but now it isn't. Nevertheless,it's still worth a visit. Speaking of Taiwan, it is also famous for night markets. Many at here must go through and try every delicacies.

Last month ,I went to New York for traveling and studying. No sooner had i stepped on New York than i liked it. It's absolutely a multi-cultural country,no discrimination ,no bias, and full of many races. One thing in particular was that the sun was too bright and it hurt my eyes. I forgot to bring my sunglasses, because in Taiwan, we didn't need to wear sunglasses but we could feel comfortable under the sun. If I have a chance study in America,I would want to try. I wanna to experience different cultures and living, but it doesn't mean i want to abandon my country.I am undoubtedly a patriotic girl.I love my hometown,Taiwan.

  • Excellent writing! Thanks for joining this month's writing challenge. I loved reading about Taiwan and your experience in New York. I had the same experience in New York. As soon as I arrived in New York City, I fell in love with it too. It's very colourful! You never run out of things to look at.

Re corrections: This sentence is a bit awkward. Can you improve it?

'I' is always written in uppercase when comes alone.
