Writing Challenge: Tell a Joke

Hello Everybody,

Actually and as everybody knows, I am not very dipped in the "writing challenge" activity, though I like it. I remember when Tara used to make a "Writing Challenge" every month in my beginnings here in the club. It was really both fun and real learning motif.

Anyways, Today I will just try to present my first writing challenges here. The challenge as you can see form the title is about telling a joke in English. As jokes and laughter are a very important part of all languages, so we really need to learn how we present them in a funny and successful way. So, let me directly go into the topic and state my challenge for you and for myself as well..

Writing Challenge Topic and Rules:

1- Make a blog in which you tell a joke: Title it as you want. Just refer to it as your participation in the challenge. Remember that there is no matter whether the joke is an English joke or it is a joke from your native that is translated to English.

2- Please don't plagiarize: As a matter that there are some pages on facebook or other sites that present English jokes daily, then I needed to remind you all that this challenge is not about posting other ready made jokes. You may tell a joke that you have heard somewhere. It's totally OK.. It has only to be told and written by your own words, Because we don't need really to read other people's words. We want you to write it with your own words.

3- Refer to your blog in a comment on this blog (optional): to allow other members to follow up with your link and comment on it.

4- Use the tag "Correct_My_Writing" (Optional): if you want other skillful members to offer you a correction on your writing form.

Now I will start with a very short Joke, and perhaps I will come again with more.

First I need to explain some words from my native language (Arabic),

You may want to know that in Arabic:

  • The word "Sensitive" means "Has-sas" (With stress on the middle s)
  • The Word "hashish smoker" means "Hash-shash" (With stress on the middle sh, it means it's same pronunciation but with sh instead of s)

So, the joke in a very short says that for Arab people learners of English, if you want to say "Has-sas" in English, then it's "Sensitive". And if you want to say "Hash-Shash" in English, Then it is "Shenshitive" :D

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

That's it.. I will try to make more jokes later. But for now, it's your turns...

No, thank you.. there is no problem at all.. I was just saying that maybe people understand that they need to create the joke.. it is a big burden which I didn't mean it.. I only mean that it has to be written by the person's words..

Thank you for your participation :)

  • Is there anything wrong if I create my own Joke? OK I am thinking of sharing another joke I heard in childhood.
  • Hello guys.. Hello, Learner and thanks for your participation..

I have just edited the blog, because I think there was a confusion in my intention.. Now, I have made it as the following:

"You may tell a joke that you have heard somewhere. It's totally OK.. It has only to be told and written by your own words, Because we don't need really to read other people's words. We want you to write it with your own words"
