Writing Challenge: Lexical Sets

Here I am with my attempt and my lexical sets focused on everything around the BABIES :-)

Finally it happened, yeah parenthood this new word, something totally unknown is trying to change your life upside down. In fact, things will never be the same again because there are not just two of you but that one...third one... ehm let's call him "invader", somebody who suddenly occupies your bedroom! Luckily sometimes he even sleeps in his crib. Instead of enjoying time with friends, you are sitting at home and feeding him. No matter, how much milk you have, propaganda of brestfeeding seems to you like a huge campaign and uffff, if one day you happen to run out of own milk, then you will have to open a can of milk formula, to make his stomach full, otherwise this little creature will kill you with his stubborn cry! Sometimes it is also good idea to give him dummy - some people are against it but ehm… eventually most parents close mouth of crying "invader" with yummy dummy! After few days, weeks you feel like you are just living in stereotype - changing diaper, feeding, carrying him on hands as he suffers from colicky pain (stomach pain), changing diaper, washing, feeding, changing diaper, changing bodysuit, carrying him on hands and... slowly dying of being totally exhausted! :-D If you still have some energy, you can go out, take the best clothes on him and let others admire your cute angel TYRAN in the pram. It looks like moms are so proud of pushing own pram but in reality the pram is here as a supportive helper, that keeps them walking… I hope my paragraph was not that tough, just the message I would like to convey through this blog is that being a parent is nice but hard work, which requires a lot of patience and love, so ... be sure you are ready for it ;-)

  • Hey, Luci!

Hats off to you for being a dedicated mother. I'm pretty sure you've managed how to multitask everything at home while you're working. I understood how you feel since I have sisters who've also done the same things, managing the home and dealing with 'invaders' while being workaholic. I could relate to the kids because I myself used to babysit some of my nephews and nieces. It's totally crazy but still a memorable learning experience. Now, they've grown taller that me and some have graduated from college. Sometimes I couldn't help myself smiling whenever I remember how naughty they were and how I was become the accomplice in their naughtiness.

Thank you for joining the writing challenge. You could have divided the paragraph into two to make it more readable. But anyway, I'm grateful to see your participation. I admire your sense of humor whenever you write.

    Cheers!

    Robbie :P

  • Hey, isn't so exciting to do all these and still working as a career woman, that could be fantastic and very admirable! The pain, exhaustion, worries, tiredness and sleepless nights are all worth it, for the very special gift. Cute lexical sets... :)
