Writing Challenge #16: A postcard for Shen Xue/Zhao Hongbao

Dear Shen and Zhao,

I'm a fan of yours and excited to know you two are on the list of athletes who were chosen to represent China at the upcoming Winter Olympics. I like figure skating and I really know you are one of the best figure skating pairs in the world. Athough you've already been Olympic gold medal winners and suffered so much from the injuries, you are definitely gold medal hopefuls of Vancouver Olympics.

What a coincidence! When the Olympics take place in Canada next week, we'll be celebrating Chinese Lunar New Year here in China. So, I'll take this chance to wish you a very happy new year and a gold medal of pairs figure skating at the Olymics.

I can't wait to watch your beautiful performance on TV.

Sorry to hear that - I didn't see the competition. Hope they'll perform perfectly at next Olympics and win a medal.

Hi stella,
So you must have seen the compitition. I was thrilled to see the performance. A perfect pair! Now that they've won the gold medal, they'll choose to retire and live a happy life. As for curling, I know the Chinese women's team may win a medal and this may be the reason for so many people here to watch the game.

Congratulations! The pair/couple just won the Olympic gold medal - it's really a dream come true. It was also the first gold medal China won at the Winter Olympics.

Sorry, the pair isn't an Olympic gold medal winner, although they've already been world figure skating champion ( but not Olympic champion). But, they are one of the hopefuls to win the Olympic gold medal at the upcoming Winter Olympics.

Thanks for your comment. Shen and zhao are a very popular figure skating pair here in China. The viewers can't wait to watch and will probably be captivated by their perfect performance on the ice, although I know the competition will be intense. Let's wish them luck!
Yes, Internet is so amazing. I love it. I even can't imagine a world without one. Going on the Internet is now one of my everyday routines. Good luck in your effort to contact the athletes!

I'll be watching this one on TV too! Wow. This is a beautiful postcard for some amazing skaters. I hope they find it! I've been contacting a few of the others athletes from this challenge via Facebook pages and blogs and sending links to the postcards. The Internet is an amazing thing, isn't it?
