Who I was born to be

Amazing song ... The lyrics really talk to me and the voice and music take me to heaven...When I was a childI could see the wind in the treesAnd I heard a song in the breezeIt was there, singing out my nameBut I am not a girlI have known the taste of defeatAnd I've finally grown to believeIt will all came around againAnd though I may not know the answersI can finally say I am freeAnd if the questions led me hereThen I am who I was born to beAnd so here am IOpen arms and ready to standI've got the world in my handsAnd it feels like my turn to flyThough I may not know the answersI can finally say I am freeAnd if the questions led me hereThen I am who I was born to beWhen I was a childThere were flowers that bloomed in the nightUnafraid to take in the lightUnashamed to have braved the darkThough I may not know the answersI can finally say I am freeAnd if the questions led me hereThen I am who I was born to beI am who I was born to beSung by Susan Boyle.Photo from googlethese lyrics are submitted by BURKUL

  • Dearest Nebia,
Yes, it was her dream since she was a little girl and she finally succeeded. I guess she had a good star above her head....
  • Hello Bob,
Gald you could finallyhear that wonderful song. She is a very shy woman and she never thought she could succeed. I am glad she did.
  • Dear Monika,
Glad you like this song too. Thanks for your comment.
  • Thank you sisters Manuela and Monika for taking me to my dreams!
I am happy to hear the song. Especially from a woman who showed that dreams can be true one day so keep on dreaming friends.
  • Wow, I finally heard the song from the video. Susan Boyle is really a great singer. I have to wonder that it took so long for her to be discovered. I guess it boils down to the old saying "You can't judge a book from its cover".

Probably too many people who met her didn't take her seriously because she didn't look like their stereotype of a great singer. The old saying is correct. Thank God we all got to hear her and enjoy that beautiful voice. I just hope that the fame that comes with such a discovery will not lead to her being hurt and misused by greedy people.
  • Yes,sure, you are right,Manuela. She has a charisma, for sure, and can charm us with her talented performances.
    Always.:))
  • Hello Bob,
When i download something here, it is just with the thought that people may also like what i type or put here as videos, not with the idea to give them an english lesson :))
So don't worry about the standart of things here. Susan's song is wonderful and the lyrics are very touching, those are the reasons i wrote them here.
Thanks for your interest and comment to this post.
  • Dear Monika,
Though EC members could see this song in my videos, it was a great idea of you to download it here. I hope our friends here will be able to open it.
Monika, look carefuly at Suzan, her face is beautiful, because her beauty is not superficial, it comes from her heart, it is not the one that will be laid in "Vogue" the famous fashion magazine, but it is the one that touches every heart.
  • Hi dear Manuela!
Thank you for this beautiful song!
Maybe Susan Boyle is not the love-queen,but her voice is still fantastic and highly enjoyable!
  • The lyrics are incredible. So now I must go find the rest of it. If it is sung by Susan Boyle, it is bound to be no disappointment. Thank you so much for sharing.

I think I will be more careful with the music I share in the future. Some I have shared because I like the sound and others because I think the words may be easier for a learner to understand. Still others have been put in to give an idea of less common forms of American music as heard overseas. You have set the standard high with this one :-)
