When my husband disappeared (real life story)

It was late September night, kids were sleeping and after a long time I decided to open a book. Firstly I wanted to choose it randomly but then the book my mom gave me last year for Xmas caught my all attention. You know, I am crazy reader, once I am reading a book I feel like I must finish it as soon as possible. My husband was watching one of his action movies I can't stand and when his movie was over he said goodnight, which I almost didn't notice since I was so immersed in the story.

Some minutes passed and I heard my daughter crying in the bedroom. Anyway, I knew my husband was there and to give her dummy isn't such a big deal, so I decided to continue reading. However, crying was getting more and more intense and after few seconds I caught myself being very nervous. I stood up and sort of upset went there.

I made my daughter calm, just gave her instinctively dummy she was looking for, something I can do even with closed eyes and....then I realized it!!!

Such cry would wake up dead body and my husband was sleeping?!! "Omg, what is going on?" I asked myself. It was dark and I couldn't properly see, if he is in bed or not. I found as a good idea to check his presence by touching his feet because I was standing near them. I touched blanket..and ....nothing!!! He wasn't there!!! Panic totally controlled my mind. In some seconds my sight got better and I was able to recognize what I saw. I looked down on the floor if he isn't lying there..and again nothing. In such a situation some people become insane so do believe me that even idea like UFO kidnapped my husband was for a while on my mind!

Oh my gosh, finally I realized it! I didn't know if I should start crying or laughing. My confused brain was restarted and ready to help me out of this scary "nightmare". All of a sudden I remembered my husband telling me that this night he will sleep with our son in his room because he must wake up early in the morning and didn't want to be disturbed by our daughter.

Honestly, I felt like idiot but I was immensely happy that my husband didn't disappear. So guys, no matter what's going on around you, try to stay calm and don't panic!!! :D

  • Love it..quite intense..u know how to bring ur story to the climax..u'r a great story teller or writer..but only a suggestion..next time if u r confuse..before u "restart" ur brain u might want to "refresh" it by pressing F5 key instead..well "refreshing" is not time consuming compare to "restarting"..:P

  • hahaha..I just can't stop laughing...you described the story in an expert hand, great!

  • I hope to see more blogs like this by you. :P :D

  • Ha Ha Luci.  You had me worried about your husband too.  You are a very focused reader and didn't really take in everything that he was saying or what was happening around you.

Since you love reading so much and are so good at reading EnglishI will make a suggestion for you. The book explains how the mind works and you will see exactly why you miss many other things when you concentrate on a task. There are two kinds of thinking and the book is called Thinking Past and Thinking Slow. maybe you can find this and at least read the first part of the book. The writer got a Nobel Prize for his work on the topic and he made it into an easy to read book.

  • Very appealing head line Luci, I saw this in the Feature Blog list, and could not stop myself to click, then I found that blogger is you. Nice way to describe a real life experience. You might not see the love you have for your husband transpired from your panic of loosing him.

We most of the time are indifferent about our spouses and treat them as normal/common, but all of a sudden such situations make us realize how much they mean to us.

    Regards

  • Great!

The title was so surpising that I wondered what really happened to your husband. What a relief - nothing serious happened to your hubby! I should have known...

  • Rajesh.. watta long comment !!! M glad my stupidity made u laugh :D
