What's Inside My Purse

This blog was inspired from Alice E's blog 'What's inside your purse?'. Reading her blog made me want to 'explore' the chaos world of my handbag.

Currently I'm using a navy blue leather Longchamp handbag. I have a few handbags, well it's true the saying that a girl can never have enough handbags or shoes', but all of them are a few years old. When I went to Europe in 2011, I went a bit crazy and bought a few handbags. But even though they are a bit out dated in term of fashion, but I bought them because of their sturdiness, rather than fashion.

Anyway, my disorganise sense, I like to call it 'an organised chaos', also can be reflected in my handbag. So, in order to give some resemblance of order, I have put my things into several small bags/purses.

First bag is a simple pink cotton bag. I bought this bag when I went to Bangkok last year. In them I dumped all my 'so called make up kits'. I don't wear make up much, but in order to avoid people screaming and running scared when they have to meet me, I had to make an effort to tidy up a little bit.

In this cotton bag, I put my kohl pencil, (I don't know how to use eyeliner), blusher, compact powder, lips gloss, a tube of lipstick, a bottle of moisturiser and hand cream. I can't live without my hand cream.

Second bag is a simple LeSportsac bag ; I call it a 'pouch'. In it I put my powerbank (it seems my handphone can't survive without a powerbank nowadays), and my handphone charger. Sometimes I put my handphone in this pouch too.

And finally, the most important bag of all, my Desigual purse (I guess since I'm using British English, I term it as a purse, whereas for American English, I think it's called a 'wallet'). In it is the life of me. All the cards; be it identification card, credit cards (I have a few of them), loyalty cards from a few restaurants (now you know I love to eat) and of course a few notes and coins. But I think the bulk of things that are stored in the purse are all the receipts. Sometimes my sisters will 'organise' my purse and throw all those useless receipts. Thank God for giving me my sisters. LOL. But unlike many of you, I didn't put any photo in my purse, not even my photo.

After all said and done, I think the only thing that is not put in either of those smaller bags is my car key. It is usually dumped into the handbag and when I want to find it, I had to rummage through my handbag first before I can find it.

However, for the weekend, I will use different bag. It's more of a 'sling bag'. So, for the weekend, I would just take out all those small bags and purse, and put them in my sling bag, and viola, I'm good to go.

  • Wow Sewar, it's fascinating to read the stories that associated with your purses. I never thought there's a relationship between purses and our life. My purses are just something that I like and buy. They are being used for my daily errands, and I never associate them with any momentous moments in my life.

Thanks for sharing your purses' life stories.

  •    Wow my dearest, what atopic!!!! You have never stopped amazing me with your fantastic topics. Any way my dearest, as a woman I have several purses. They differ in their colures, their sizes and their brands. Every one of them has a story to tell. The burble one has my love story. The blue and the binky ones have my love dating’s stories....No...haha....Actually my dating's' secrets....Huuuuush don't tell anyone.  The white one has my wedding’s lovely story. The big green one was for my children’s needs when they were young, I still keep it, I don’t know why, and really I adore it. It tells my motherhood’s story. The black once, I have several of black purses, tell you my students’ stories, marks and secrets.

My friend, if you take a glance into one of my dearest purses, you will just find money and my mobile. I don’t have makeup tools, do you believe that?? I swear I don’t use them weather inside or outside the house.

Finally, I believe that there is an emotional relationship between any woman and her , purses, that’s why it is so difficult for her to get rid of one of them.  God bless you my dearest friend.

  • Setareh, well, not really organised, but less messy, I would say. LOL

  • Fizzy, well, I want you to use all your imagination and picture my messy bag. LOL. I used to throw all stuff inside my handbag too, but whenever I need to find my handphone or car key, I used to take a very very very long time to find them. So, I had to segregate all my stuff into a few smaller bags. I found this method is more 'organised'. LOL

  • You gave a bag full of stuff but organized one.:D thanks for sharing your handbag with us.
  • i wish you could show me the pictures.  My bag is a mess as i throw all stuffs in it .. lol

  • Tsk tsk tsk Mary! You're taking advantage of your friend. LOL. I hope your friends would be generous and lending you some of those 'extra' things that you need.

I guess, I should welcome you to our newly minted 'Organised Chaos Club' or should be known as OCC. LOL

  • Alice E, I never thought that it's such an 'adventure' to peek through my handbag, until I read your blog. LOL. Now, I wonder what's inside some people's handbags when I see such interesting handbag. :)

  • Elen, though I have a few bags, but I'm so lazy to change my bag :) So, I ended up using the same bag for quite a while. And, I don't like changing my bag so often because I always ended up like you. Certain important items would be left behind in the previous bag. :D :D

  • Evangelina, smiles :)

Believed me, I am as disorganised as a messy cat. LOL. I've been trying to organise myself for the last two centuries, but, it was a hopeless effort.

Well, I have to admit, though I love the Desigual brand, but it's a bit expensive. So, I just have this purse, and I bought it when it was on a sale. :)
