What I Learned Last Week

Monday, Aug.22th, 2011.
I learned a very important point in the "Problem Solving" class. According to the professor, if you can not solve a problem, it means you don't have enough information to solve it. So, he emphasized that we had to add more information instead of saying, "I am dumb."

As I thought about it, I found two examples of two scientists that had a great impact on our society. One of them was a Persian physician, Ibn-Sina. Once he could not understand a medical book. He tried to read it forty times and still couldn't get it. On the way home, he suddenly saw a merchant selling some books, then, he bought the same medical book written by different author. He took the book and read it again. Everything became clear after forty one attempts.

Another example is Einstein, he had an illness that could see the letters of a word dancing all over the book. So, He was not to be able to get high marks in the school. However, he could be one of the greatest scientists in the world.
Conclusion: I am not dumb! I don't only have enough information!

I was assigned to write a paragraph in the "How authors develop their own style of writing" class. I was not so sure if I understood the question and was totally confused what I had to do with these five sentences taken from a newspaper. Anyway, I had to write something. I did it ,but I told the professor that I was not so sure about what I had written. He said: "There is no ONE true answer. Try it anyway."

Wednesday Aug 24th, 2011.
I learned that life is a miracle because the night before, a severe thunderstorm passed through the city and an earthquake stroke Virginia and shook Toronto. I was sitting on a second floor of a building and had no idea what was going on. However, I am still alive and can write my blog! What a miracle! How lucky I am!

I learned I should pray for what I have not what I want. I saw this was carved on a piece of metal.
