We Stand Together, Barcelona

My thoughts and prayers to the victims and families of the terror attacks in Barcelona, Spain. I hope my Spanish friends and their loved ones are safe!

I haven't been there yet, but Barcelona is one of the places that I'd love to visit in the future. I heard the city is known for breath-taking and majestic tourist attractions. In addition, most people are friendly and hospitable, the qualities that Filipinos have also possessed.

It seems as if no one is safe anymore regardless of our location. My country has also been battling this war for a very long time now. A lot of people are displaced, lost everything and being discriminated because of their religion, that they came from war-torn places. Nevertheless, no one deserves to be a victim of terrorism.

Let's stand together and unite for the elusive peace in this day and age. Let's be vigilant and aware of our surroundings. Please be safe everyone!

  • You're welcome, Eva!

I'm so glad to see you back. I've missed you! Some people got confused when you changed your previous name, but it's A-OK now at least. You're right, our world is full of hatred and greed. We must also stay optimistic and pro-active to keep us sane. I still believe good people cannot be outnumbered by the evil ones, and they are willing and fighting to make our world a better place...

    Thank you for your comment!

    See you around,

    Robbie :)

Those acts are so inconceivably vicious and meaningless, how can it even ever be justified. It's so sad to think there exists people on this earth that are so blindfolded by immense hatred, that they completely lost their ability to see and think.

This goes beyond what is morality. So many innocent people. I agree words are sometimes just not enough.

Thank you for posting this. It is a fine gesture of you.
  • Hey, Dara!

It's true. We're not safe even when we're sleeping especially if we let fear surround us. It's essential to be aware of the current events, but at the same time limit the negative news because it could really affect our health and cause stress. Sometimes, there's too much in our plate already and all we want is something inspiring or positive... :)

    Thank you for the comment!

  • Hi, Estanis!

You're welcome! I'm glad that you and your family are doing fine. I hope Mary and the rest of our MyEC friends from Spain and other countries are in safe places. This horrible event wouldn't change my mind to visit Barcelona and other interesting places in Spain. It's still in my bucket list!

I'm grateful to the people who work round-the-clock to keep us safe. They're trying to be calm against the ravaging bullets and bombs, even cars that could hit them anytime.

Thank you for the comment, mi amigo!

    Robbie :)

  • Hello, Elen!

I agree with you. It's becoming a pattern. I do hope this will be the last tragic event. Thank you for your time commenting!

    Robbie :)

  • Maraming salamat mod Robbie! That what I meant by my last discussion, arguments. We wake up everyday to witness some crisis here or there. It seems to me that we do not  have to sleep even by night. I agree with you, let's be with them and be together. Thanks for sharing.

  • Hi, Elf-Noor!

Sometimes when we're overwhelmed by a tragic event we became speechless. But prayers are a warm gesture to show our solidarity regardless of our religion. No one would notice it but someone from above hears it.

    Thank you for commenting!

  • Thank you, Bet!

  • Thank you for these words Robbie, they touched me.
You're right, people here is hospitable and welcoming, something that also attracts the tourists, actually most of victims and injured are non Spanish.
You told me once you'd like to visit us some day and I truly hope you haven't changed your mind for a few heinous animals. They will never change our values and lifestyle.
  • It's horrible... In what age do we live?? Terrorism prevails and we afraid to travel, to go to work, to go a walk... even if after every terrorist atack we forget and act normally... it has already hurt our souls... We just hope one day to see an end to this...
