"I'm not going to change the world. You're not going to change the world. But we can help - we can all help" - Cristiano Ronaldo - footballer and philanthropist

I always think that we, as an individual can easily destroy the entire planet without the help of others. But to reverse or cure our Mother’s Earth it takes more than a community and yet with little result. People always say, we are just like a small drop of water in the blue ocean. No matter how much we put our effort, the impact is too small to be noticed.

But I guess this man Jadav Molai Payeng from Asam India didn’t read the script. He single handedly for the past 30 years had transform a coastal sandbar of river Brahmaputra into a forest. He had been planting and tending trees for an area of about 1,360 acres.

Now it’s called the Molai forest. Not only he had transform a sandbar into a forest, but he also created a new eco-diverse system where wild animals such as elephants and rhinos can come and roam freely.

After reading about this remarkable man’s life and effort, now I believed as an individual, we do can make a difference to our society.

In this blog I want to share with you one of the Youtube videos about this incredible man. You may also just Google his name and can read various articles about his accomplishment.

  • WOW... A big WOW to your husband Sewar. He's an amazing man. He's leaving a very beautiful legacy that people will always talk and remember with kind words. I'm sure you already making a lot of differences in someone's life. God bless you, and your family.

  •     Woooow, he is, really, in harmony with nature, lucky him!!

My dearest, to make difference, any difference, whether in our lives or in our world, we would have love what we attend to do. Be sure that love always creates, it never destroys. Simply, that what happened with Molai and my husband, yes my husband.......you read the word correctly. My lovely husband grew all the trees in the street of our region. All our neighbors thanks him for making a lovely and free shadow for their cars.

I hope one day I make my own, remarkable, deference. God bless you my dearest.

  • Hi Icha,

You're right that persistence, patience, working hard and faith could change the things that we thought was impossible to achieve. I'm glad to share his story with everyone in here, and maybe we as an individual could make a small change.

  • Hi Noas,

After see the youtube attached in this blog, wow I felt nothing than him. How a modest man can have strong believe and great dream to change the conditions around him to be better, although he got mockeries from people around. I just thought that are you aware often times that we felt discouraged for every sound we heard or things we saw although we knew what we did is a good thing? And then we stepped back and said to ourselves that “might be they are right and I need to rethink these deeply.”

And the youtube remind me that persistence, patience, working hard, and faith could change the things that we think firstly that are impossible to reach. And now I believe his name to become immortality because of his kindness during his life and the important thing is not only his generation could benefit from his works but the next one too.

Thanks Noas shared the inspiration man’s story from India.

  • SNR, yes, you're right. If we decided to make some changes, we should do it. No need to wait for others. :)

  • Adaline Bala, I did heard about the story, but haven't read the full article. Thanks for sharing it with me. You're right, there are so many more people like him, making changes without expecting anything in return. I just wish the mass media cover these kinds of stories much more. It gives a positive energy to everyone.

  • Camel, yeah.. we can be the role model of changes. Any changes should come from us, rather that expecting from other people.
