Understanding Problems from Basics.

Terrorism is often seen as an act of violence by some sick minds to spread fear and buckle down establishment for the cause terrorist are fighting. But I think its a very narrow definition of terrorism. Terrorism is not just an act, its an ideologies and the so called "terrorist" are sincerely devoted to that (wrong) ideology.

I remember the Peshawar incidents in Pakistan where terrorist before killing the innocent children in school asked them to read the 'Kalma' - "ya illa, ilil-la....". If we see that act from terrorist point of view then they are fighting the holy war 'Jihad' and they justify them self quite convincingly that their act of violence is need of hour. Yesterday, a suicide bomber killed 15 people near to church in Lahore. There must be a reason that the bomber killed himself as well. Did he had any regret for that suicide? No, absolutely not. He must be happy for that 'shahadat' (from his perspective) and the coming 'Jannat' paradise. And there are many misguided people ready for such sacrifices in Pakistan and other terror suffering countries.

The typical case of IS recent vandalism of Mosul's ancient museum can be explained. They were trying to make their Allah happy by demolishing Idols. Strange! but justified by their interpretation of Quran.

If we understand the phenomenon more closely than we are going to find that these people who are into these acts and propagation of these ideologies are not foreigners. They are the very indigenous people nurtured by same establishment at times for short term gains. And at that times these 'sick minds' were doing the same act of terror in other countries. And the establishment of Pakistan euphemistically called them Jihadis (not terrorist), because they were not killing their sons but neighbors son!

Hillary Clinton (the most probably the next President of US), has summed it up very nicely in his book as "You cant keep snakes in your backyard and expect them only to bite your neighbors". The Haqqani network, the LeT, the Hafeez Sayed and Laqwi are not only the people driven by this terrorism ideologies but they also run institutions that recruit and propagate this distorted notion of Islam and Jihad.

The problem with ideology is a bigger problem. When we believe in something, with time we trust in it, a prolonged trust creates a faith in that belief, faith (can be blind as well) is often practiced by rituals and the act of terror in Pakistan (and all over the world) are just the final "rituals" of that belief. Until and unless the centers and institution are eradicated from the foundation, you cant expect something (and all operations like Zarb-e-Azb) will prove futile eventually.

But the irony of ideology is that, it takes a long time to develop (as explained above), and it takes a long time to be removed from the society as well. It cant be changed overnight. For that there should be a political consensus, government will and public support. People's perception has to be changed by mobilization and spreading awareness. In Pakistan there is a political consensus on suppressing the act of terror and terrorists. But they are yet to understand the basic culprits behind these acts. The factories that are promoting the ideology of violence.

At one side ISI is supporting the leader (Terrorist like Hafeez Sayed) of his ideology and at other side Pakistani army is fighting a war against the followers of this ideology (TTP). Its a paradox but truth! It needs courage to accept that their is something fundamentally wrong with the system. It needs a determination to challenge the policies of the government (or military rule, because people do not mind being ruled in martial laws as well). And it need time to understand the complex phenomenon of belief, faith, ideology and practices/rituals.

The bigger question here is not the success of Wazirstan or SWAT or Baluchistan or Gilgit/Baltistan, but the bigger question is, 'Is Pakistan's establishment and people ready to go against the ideology that was spread in 80's and practices of terrorism that were supported by Zia-Ul-Haq based on that idology?' I see a dismal picture for that. Because a whole generation was taught with this ideology of in schools and colleges. And as the roots of this thinking (misinterpretation) are so deep (a whole generation) that it will not go form Pakistan eventually. They will remain in the mode of "self denial", will keep fighting against those terrorists which are against them (not those who are against neighbors), the institutions of ideology will continue to grow and flourish and such Lahore, Peshawar, Karachi attacks will also keep on happening.

  • I saw that picture, it was nice, so was your poem. My comments are not dishonest. Please try not to bring the "trust deficit" between us. I hope we both are honest to ourselves and the outside world.
Well a flag of a nation is the symbol of patriotism toward that country. Every country men love their nation (that is why countries exist). I never doubted the patriotism of people of pakistan toward their nation (because its beyond doubt). What I raising is the path on which the nation's decision making body is moving? Try to understand the difference and come out of box thinking... above religions and nationalism... above you and above me... On the horizon where truth prevails...

  • Dreamer I am glad that your comment is more neutral this time and your are talking from law perspective, from the democracy and equality's point of view. And you expressed your feeling quite well. :D

I will request you as well not to make personal comment. It weakens the case. I hope you understand :)

  • Arif, Thanks for your criticism. I hope I will improve my self in coming blogs.
Please dont call me fake. Because I am not! The moment you make such personal accusation you give me a reason to avoid you. I love talking with people on serious issues with arguments and facts/figures and different interpretation of same real life events. And logic like Almighty saving you or You do what you do, why you do etc is your personal stuff. I do not have right to go into it.
Since the beginning I am talking on the ideologies and their reason. In this above blog as well I have tried to show the path on which Pakistani establishment is walking i.e. to promote one (LeT) and to suppress other (TTP). Any comments or justification are welcome.
Arif do not try to prove me wrong. Because there are many people like me in this world. You will not ever win :D. But try to prove my argument wrong. The moment you will do it, you will win all those who are against your nation's path (not you).
And Allah is defending your country... then why drone attack happens every second day? Come on dude! We are in 21 century, it belongs to science and technology, it works on coding and algorithms. And god is fair with all(yours is not especial). God is there in laboratories and helping Americans and Europeans (Not Talibanian and ISIS who made themself on the name of god) to develop better technology so to eliminate terrorism from this world.
How far their (NATO) approach is justified is again a question to be reckoned.

  • Everybody is welcomed to write what he/she wants to write. Freedom of expression is given unless you are not writing false information. I do not hate Pakistan/Pakistanis, but I hate the ideology of dominating and killing minorities. If minorities is reducing then it is a clear picture that they(minors) are not cared or heard.

If anybody dares to write the TRUTH, he must not hesitate or warn like this. Truth is like a sun, which cannot be hidden for long, it will come out anyway for sure...

  • Traveller, I can't promise, but I try to teach you how to write such blog someday. InshaAllah :) by reading your blog, which gave me a thought that I should write more religious blogs than fun blog. You know I love writing fun blogs I consider my self as a specialist in this field, but people like you always drag us to political or religious environment and treat us as if we are the terrorists. You know I have been criticised so much for having a long beard profile photo, yet I haven't changed it you know, why? Because, my love for my beloved Prophet (peace be upon him) is much stronger than their stricture. The more they hurt me, the more I feel love for him ( peace be upon him)
  • Frankly speaking, you need to improve your writing skill, especially the skill of highlighting the issues of other countries. You know when you speak defines your inner personality and define who and how you are, but you must not care as you are at faked account with faked name. By having faked account, it doesn't mean a licence to blame on others repulsively.

Now come to your blog, my country has more problems than what you have described in your blog. I haven't come here to defend the miscreants and culprits going beyond the boundary defined by Allah Almighty nor do I love to defend people in my country. It is because I can't take guarantee of my self. I can't pass a day without mistakes sins, so how can we fight for others?.

I wrote my feeling for my country in different way as many people have been seen aggrandizing their countries and their cultures. So, do something different from others.

Check it out please and leave your dishonest comment there or here.

  • As I see it, those terrorists are people who were thoroughly brainwashed, and they are the tool of those high above them. They are serving to achieve the goals of some politicians, or even states, and that's really horrible. Fear or hatred for other religions or nationalities mustn't be the core of the state!

  • As I worry about Indian women, these were the thought that came in my mind. http://my.englishclub.com/profiles/blogs/indian-women-in-the-changi...
A gift from Traveler to Cutie Pie :D Your comments are welcome cutie!

  • Cute Angel:- Terrorism is a problem in my country and We have right to right about it. Most of the terrorist attacks are happening from our neighbouring countries.

26/ November 2008 was operated from Pakistan, a terrorist was kidnapped called, Ajmal Kasab. So it is pretty good and true to right about them. Terrorism is happening from outside, not from inside.

Whatever news you have shared, is a very small number if you compare it with the polulation of India which 1.26 billion (2nd largest in world). Rapes are happening in India and we are at 4th number even though we have that much large population. US is 1st in number, Sweden is 2nd in number and South Africa is 3 in number and India is 4th and UK is fifth.

Despite of having that much population, we have limited crimes and these crimes will reduce soon if these neighbour will stop sponsoring terrorists in India.

  • Cute Angel you are really Cute! And I appreciate your comment. I am thinking over it as well.
But the question I am raising here is something different. Every country has problems and India and Pakistan are not exceptions at all. My point is to understand the internal conflict of ideology in a society.

We do not pay respect to rapists..no do you.. and no one can! Everyone punishes rapists.
why do not pakistan ban terrorist organizations....because they are the source of ideology.
I hope you will understand the subtle point I am trying to make here and instead of falling in blame game, think over the subject

Terrorism is everywhere... But is it state supported everywhere? Crying on Lahore incident and laughing on Mumbai incident.. is this right. If some one rapes in Pakistan and comes to India then I believe that he should be punished here... Can pakistan do that for Dawood?
Bahut aasan hota hai zasbaat mai behna dost! Zarurat hai najuk maslo ko samajne ki :D

    rest depends on you Cutie!
