Tuesday with Morrie

What If You Had One Day Perfectly Healthy, What Would You Do?

Morrie Answered “Let’s See…. I’d Get Up In The Morning, Do My Exercise, Have A Lovely Breakfast Of Sweet Rolls And Tea, Go For A Swim, Then Have My Friends Come Over For A Nice Lunch. I’d Have Them Come One Or Two At A Time So We Could Talk About Their Families, Their Issues, Talk About How Much We Mean To Each Other. Then I’d Like To Go For A Walk, In Garden With Some Trees, Watch Their Colors, Watch The Birds, Takes In This Nature That I Haven’t Seen In So Long Now. In The Evening, We’d All Go Together To A Restaurant With Some Duck--- I Love Duck--- And Then We’d Dance The Rest Of The Night. I’d Dance With All The Wonderful Dance Partners Out There, Until I Was Exhausted. And Then I’d Go Home And Have A Deep, Wonderful Sleep.”

These Simple Words Make Me Realize How Simple Life Is. It Makes Me Realize That Every Day Is A Perfect Day To Do All The Things That We Can. It Is Not About Waiting The Rain To Stop, But It Is About Learning To Enjoy The Rain On A Day. Life Is Too Short And Death Is Natural As Life.

This chapter teaches me to accept everything that happens naturally, such as death. Morrie said “as long as we can love each other, and remember the feeling of love we had, we can die without really going away. All the love you create is still there. All the memories are still there. You live on the heart of everyone you have touched and nurtured while you were here.” It simply means that, to love is the most important thing to do in this world while you are still alive. To give love is to give someone a reason to remember anything on you; even you don’t exist anymore, because according to Morrie “death ends life, not a relationship.”

When I was young I've always looking for a perfect moment to do such thing that I don’t normally doing. Before, I don’t usually express my thoughts and ideas because I believe that it is not the perfect time to deliver it or maybe because I’m too shy to express myself, but when I grew up (not physically) I've learn how to communicate with the others, I've learn how to express my happiness and love for the others, because little by little I've learn that every day can be a perfect day to do and say something that we don’t usually do.

Therefore, a perfect day is not about waiting for a perfect moment in a perfect time, because the real perfect day is always there waiting for us to accept that everything’s happened for a reason. So enjoy life and consider that every day is your PERFECT DAY!
