To be or not to be....

Some say that achieving is a lot easier than maintaining, personally i agree with that..

Because most of time when we are willing to achieve something we would work hard, 24/7, give all of our best and keep saying NO to stop.

but once we have reached the top of our goal, all of a sudden we feel like we deserve it. After all the hard work, after all the sweats, after all the time that we have spent reaching it...we start to forget that achieving also needs to be maintained.

when we start to ignore the obligation of maintaining, the shiny trophy that we have in our hand started to dusty...and might rusty too, by then we start to ignore it....and lost the excitement of having it.

Now...please share your opinion about how important it is to maintain what we have achieve, do we really need to maintain it? or just let the trophy stand nicely on your shelf?

*just for fun, no stress involved please :)

  • When we reach a goal, we enjoy it only for a while, it's like psychologist called "hedonic adaptation". In order to maintain the sense of importance of our trophy and continue to enjoy it, we need to enrich it, amplifying it, renew it. In one phrase, we need to avoid that routine darkens the shiny trophy.

  • As Shakespeare said, To be or not to be that is the question. It is up to us to determine our    success etc... you are you own judge in life, therefore its up to you to answered the question... and knows the PROS and CONS that is my personal opinion.... blessings

  • Very interesting! As human beings, we are always searching for new challenge and goals. Unfortunately, after getting to success, we easily forget "the cause". It  is important to keep the motivation. Maybe this is a harder work..:)

  • Hi Kayela, thanks for stopping by... and for ur comment

  • Nice post! For me, it's like cleaning the house. Once the house is messy, clearing it up is easy. But then, the next day, going to work, we are too rushed to keep everything organized. So it is hard to maintain it. Sometimes, we are eager to get something done, but when we finally make it, we get too busy chasing other stuff, then we tend to overlook what we already have achieved.

  • In short, when you already achieved what you wanted to achieve, you should gird yourself with the shield of strong self-discipline.  A kind of discipline that will help you stay at your peak.  A good machine is maintained by fueling it.  And so we are!

    Very good topic, Jade!

    For the correction:
