Thoughts in the late summer

Oh how much I like the late summer with it's warm days and high sky. The drops of the morning dew shine like brillants in spider webs and the first peaches and apples are ripe.
The first fogs show the fall and the first leaves fall down from the trees.
Last roses are blood-red, to show that they don't want to die, but they have just still some weeks to blow.
The days are getting shorter and the nights longer, it shows us how close the fall is.
Still is the sun warm and I hold my face towards the blue sky and I enjoy how the sun caresses my skin.
The birds will fly to the south, but still they sing their songs here.
I listen to it and I close my eyes. I see the pictures of the summer and I want to keep the time of summer.
The seasons are like our life. Childhood is the spring, the youth shares spring and summer, young adults share summer and fall and older adults share fall and winter.
The year will begin again, after the winter will come the spring, after the spring comes the summer, then the fall and the winter... every single year again ... but we don't get a new life again.
Where are the days and weeks gone? Who took the months and the years?
Where is the middle of our life ... to see we lived a half of the life, now we can live the second half.
The seasons have fixed times, but not the time of our life, but we can leave new life. Our children will live our life further for the coming seasons and years.
So we come back again like birds in the spring, fruits and flowers in summer, like the falling leaves in fall and with white hair like snow in winter.

  • Thanks Mishaikh, yes, it's true, we also have our seasons of life.

  • I like the way you 'metaphor' life with seasons.  Yes, it is true, and now I am in snow!

  • Your thoughts in the late summer are very nice, Rose. I enjoyed it. :)

  • Thanks Mary for your comment. I know what you mean. Summer could be so nice if it were not too hot. The last days are warm and sunny and the temperatures are good. I always enjoy the first and late days of summer. The first days because I was waiting for the summer and the last days because I know I will miss him ... also if I don't like the heat of summer.

  • Very nice blog Rose. I also like the last days of summer... Because I don't like summer at all!   But of course, I know what you mean :)

    Thanks for sharing.

  •  thanks a lot for your comment on my blog Estanis. And yes, you are right, some see the glass half empty ... they are the pessimists.... better is, to be an optimist and to see the glass half full. And hahaha... you ask me where I have been all time? I keep my glass half full as long as possible... hahaha, but here on this site I'm quite new.

  • Great Rose!
I really like your view. That's the 'wheel of life' and you introduced it amazingly. I guess I'm in my late summer also, some see the glass half empty at this age although I see you see it from a very different point of view.
Btw, where have you been all this time? Haha... Look forward reading more from you :)
