Professor Caroline Black just had finished one of her lectures when the young man entered the lecture hall. She looked at him and said, "I am sorry but the lecture is completed for today. Are you a new student? I never have seen you in my lectures." "No, professor Black, I am not one of your students. I am here in a very private matter or mission, however you want to call it", said the young man.

Carolin Black looked up. She was very surprised and said a little annoyed, "I am sorry but I have to hurry up. I want to pick up my little daughter from nursery school. I really can not imagine what private affair you want to discuss with me", she said.
"Oh, I am sorry, if you don't have time right now, please phone me up and tell me when and where we can talk. If you listen to me, I am sure you will understand the importance of my information", said the young man, gave her a piece of paper with his mobile number and left the lecture hall.

Caroline put that piece of paper into her coat pocket, took her briefecase and left the lecture hall. She knew her daughter was waiting for her. Caroline's husband was on a business trip. She expected his return in the evening for dinner.

In the evening after dinner with her family, Caroline had washed up the dishes, she remembered the young man. She told her husband about her encounter with him and wondered what the young man would tell her. Her husband laughed and joked the young man would be one of her admirers. She showed her man that piece of paper with the mobile number and asked him if she should call him. "Why not", said her hubby. "If you want to know what he wants to tell you, you have to meet him."
Caroline took her mobile and phoned up the number. She arranged an appointment  with the young man for the next afternoon at a cafe next to the university.

The young man was relieved after Caroline's call. He put the book with professor Charles Forsite's photo in his briefcase because he would need it for the meeting with professor Carolin Black. Then he went to bed, in anticipation of the next day.

The next day had come and the young man sat in the cafe, waiting for professor Caroline Black. He was a little nervous when she came in. He didn't know how to start the conversation, so he asked if she would like him to order a drink for her. She told him she would like just a cup of coffee. He ordered a cup of coffee for Caroline and a coke for himself. Then he looked at her, took the book out of his briefcase and put it on the table.
"What important information do you have for me?" asked Caroline. "I really don't have any idea what kind of informations do you have for me", she added.

The young man opened the book, and showed her that picture inside of the book cover. "Do you know this man?" he asked her. "Yes, that's Professor Charles Forsite", she said. "I know", said the young man. "I noticed recently a talk between students while they had been talking about you and Professor Forsite. They said you were professor Forsite's daughter. Is that true?"

"I think that shouldn't be your business. Since when are medical students gossip reporter?", said Caroline angrily, stood up and wanted to leave. "Oh no, stay please", said the young man. "It's not because I am curious. It's just that one of the students told me, you are seeking already for a very long time for professor Forsite. Maybe I can help you. Please stay and take a seat again."

"How you could help me?" said Caroline and looked at him. "Is this man your father?" asked the young man again. "I must know it before I can tell you more."  "Yes, he is my father and yes it's true, I am seeking for him but it seems he disappeared."

The young man took a deep breath and said, "He is not disappeared, he lives in a very small village. This book in front of you is one of his books. He was giving me some of his books when I left my vilage for my studies." Caroline became pale, her eyes full of tears and she said with rough voice: "So he still lives! Thanks god! You know him personally, please tell me more about him." "Yes he is still alive", answered the young man, "but he isn't a doctor and surgeon anymore. He owns a small farm, works as a farmer and lives alone with his pets and animals."

The young had tried to answer on all her uncountable questions about her father as good as he could until late in the eving before he and Caroline left the cafe.

  • Hahaha! You do read between lines, but you really took into account my yesterday's explanations.

  • Thanks for your encouragement, Danny. Hahaha, I think I can read between your lines. If you say it's much better, it means also it isn't good enough.

  • Well, well, it is much better in grammar! Anyway, I can't wait the next chapter!

  • Dear Elf-Noor, I will publish my next chapter as soon as possible. Be a little patient, please!

    Thanks for your comment.

  • Good start of story...
Please publish more as soon as possible..:P
  • Hahaha, Mishaikh, I do hate stories and even movies in installments, too. I write it here in installments because firstly, I develop my story step by step and secondly, many people don't like reading too long stories here on this site.

  • Anxiously waiting for the next, (though I hate stories in installments).
