Teachers' Day

Teacher's Day

Teachers are a significant part of everyone's life. They show us the right path and groom us to become a better citizen and a better person. They teach us to face the most difficult challenges of life and get through them, easily. Teacher's Day is celebrated to pay tribute to teachers, Who have dedicated a considerable part of their life to impart moral and academic knowledge to their students. We celebrate this day in many different ways.

When teacher's day is celebrated in you country ?

At me in India teacher's day is celebrated on 5th of September.

How teacher's day started in your country?

Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who was a great teacher. He also became the first Vice-President and second Presidents of India. And when some of his stu dents and friends approached him and requested him to allow them to celebrate his birthday, he said, "instead of celebrating my birthday separately, it would be my proud privilege, if September 5th is observed as Teacher's day". From then onwards, the 5th of September has been observed as Teachers Day, in India.

How do you celebrate it?

In India
It is now one of the occasions that is looked forward by the teachers and students alike as on this occasion its not only when teachers are praised but also around many schools students dress up as a representation of their teachers and take various lectures that are assigned to the teachers they represent. As the day passes the students perform the regular activities that are performed by the teacher's. On this day students realize what it means to be a teacher and what it means to control the future of several students in their classes and also teachers are reminded what it felt like when they were the students. Cakes are also cut on this day, students give gifts to the teachers and on this fashionable world many where students' conduct parties like dancing, singing and so on.

Hello my dear EC friends I hope I could know about your countries too So, kindly if you have time to write some words on this great day please don't forget to share.

  • Hi Rajesh!

I agreed to Juan Carlo because I`m also from Philippines. Rather than Teacher`s day its called teachers month because its a month long celebration.

In my place, the students led by the President of the Student Council  prepared a short program and games for teachers only. The teachers would not teach for the whole day instead their places were took over by the students. These volunteer students  which were called "little teachers" spent one day teaching the subject they were assigned to teach, the teachers then were the observers. During the short program, the teachers were payed tributes by the students through presentation of the good and funny things about them. After the program, they prepared games in which the  teachers were seen to be eagerly participating and enjoying. They also gave gifts, flowers and balloons to the teachers.

Here are some of the photos taken during the celebration last year.
