Taiwan

Taiwan is mostly mountainous in the east and gently sloping plains in the west. The Penghu Islands are west of Taiwan (Satellite photo by NASA). Taiwan is an island in East Asia. "Taiwan" is also commonly used to refer to the territories governed by the Republic of China (ROC) and to ROC itself, which governs the island of Taiwan, Orchid Island and Green Island in the Pacific off the Taiwan coast, the Penghu islands in the Taiwan Strait, and Kinmen and the Matsu Islands off the coast of mainland Fujian Province.

Taipei 101 is a 101-floor landmark skyscraper located in Xinyi District, Taipei, TaiwanRepublic of China). The building, designed by C.Y. Lee & Partners[2] and constructed primarily by KTRT Joint Venture[3]and Samsung Engineering & Construction[4], is the world's tallest completed skyscraper according to the CTBUH[5], the arbiter of tall building height. Taipei 101 received the Emporis Skyscraper Award in 2004. It has been hailed as one of the Seven New Wonders of the World (Newsweek magazine, 2006) and Seven Wonders of Engineering (Discovery Channel, 2005).[6]

    Yes,many products which was labeled "Made in Taiwan."before,but now many products which was labeled "Made in China."

    But Taiwan's products are now change to Hi-tech products like PC,PDA phone ,IC etc.

    You information of Taiwan is interesting. I have had a few students from Taiwan in my English class. I didn't know there were so many mountains in your country. Colorado, the state in which I live, has one-half of the state covered by mountains.
