Sharing My Story#1 : Me and My EC

It was one cold day in December2009, I was scouting for study material online, as I needed more minimal pairs, tongue twisters for my speech classes.I got what I was looking for and browsing further I came across the application to this site.I was not used much to any thing online then, rather to the virtual My Kids International UK English course I conducted as a franchisee.ECwas directly online ,exciting and different, day one onwards ,there was no looking back.

I enjoyed reading discussions from groups. My favorite then were the groups, Discover yourself. Believe in yourself.Whilst exploring the site as newbie I got into the chat room, and was awed, this was my first time (loooool.) I too became a regular at the mains and enjoyed it very much. It was fun reading and chatting with learners and fluent speakers, all around the world. Muge (mommy) was one o f the members I got to know then, and through exchange of id's we became thick friends chatting regularly in the morning, over a cup of coffee, on the net.My goal was to improve my self as a teacher, by getting new study materials, as to make my class interesting to the youngsters at my school.I am a native speaker,am more fluent in English than in my own mother tongue.as am speaking it,as from a babe, yet, there is no end to learning, and I am still learning this wonderful language. When Tara started the group Welcoming newbies, I too joined enthusiastically and am still welcoming and hope they will too do the same to others , as it is a lovely feeling of being welcomed, I was welcomed by Mr Josef as newbie and I remember a thank you note from Joyce Viera in joining her group English Teachers. The result in joining the club, I have the chance to interact with members all over the world, thus bringing us closer through the touch of a button, and we are useful to each other and also happy to get away briefly to virtual.A memorable event to me was meeting EC member Ohnie , in my country , it was fantastic the first meeting at her hotel , two hours drive from my place. She was flying back home that night for ref:http://my.englishclub.com/profile/OhnieThomas

She hosted us to a scrumptious buffet, and this picture was taken at the pool under the moonlight amidst the gentle sounds of the waves near by.Coming to the finale of my little tale, I owe Tara Benwell for guiding and being our mentor thus enhancing us to develop our talents goals and to reach out to others too.My dearest soul mate Karenina for encouraging me to come out of my shell and to be active . I owe her a big thank you.To My closest friend Muge for the everlasting friendship we have bonded through My English Club. The decision of joining this club, has brought a vast change in to my life, hope fully it would be so to the end..
