Selfless Love

He was a middle-aged man, visiting the hospital to get his stitching cut.  He was insisting the staff nurse to rush.  The nurse was getting ready to cut the stitches, but he was asking, again and again, to be quick at the same time he was looking at his wristwatch and repeating to be quick.  The nurse asked him whether he had some errand.  He told her that he had to reach a nursing home at 9 a.m. to feed his wife her breakfast.  The nurse asked why she was in the hospital. He told that she was suffering from a very chronic disease because of which she not in her senses and can’t help herself in her daily routine. The nurse asked whether she wait for him.  He said that she was even unable to recognize him. Then the nurse said why he was so worried to feed her breakfast, it made no difference if any staff nurse of the hospice would feed her, because she even didn’t recognize you.  “yes,” the old man said, “she doesn’t recognize me for last five years, but I very well recognize her who is she of me, and it will be a betrayal with her if I will not be there with her in her needs.”

    That is my opinion :)

  • Good to see you Elf-Noor after a long absence. And thanks for the comment.
  • awesome,

how sweet his love is for her.

  • Good Warda baita.

You can take the inspiration to write stories (blog) from your surrounding.  I do the same. It is a good way to do writing practice.

    You have commented very nicely.

  • What a beautiful and heart touching story. I liked it.

Reminds of my late neighbor, He was ill for many years and could not move. His wife stayed by his side and refused to leave him alone, she took care of him and didn't leave the house for years. He used to forget everything but he never forgot her. When she weren't around he would ask  about her. He used to be in hospital but still ask  about how his wife is doing.
    May Allah bless his soul.
When he passed away, his wife read this very beautiful poetry to me and cried.
"I lived the days of bliss with him & I was happy with him, and today he left me with his memory." (Rough translation, poetry was in Arabic).

    Thanks for sharing, Sir.

  • Thanks Eva for kind elaboration.

The guy loves his wife to the extreme point. He considers if he ignores her in even in any involuntar way it will be a betrayal for him with his beloved wife.
This happens in the extreme verge of love.  It may happen that a person do not like even to think anything/any other than his/her beloved, otherwise it is a betrayal for them.

  • Mishaikh,

Hmm, I guess, I interpret the word “betrayal” in some different way. What is written above, I do not think that can be categorized as being betrayal. That would rather be, being prevented by unfortunate circumstances, as we sometimes have no control over.

He was by heart, by mind faithful towards his wife, the problem occurs when there is no faithfulness in heart or mind.

It is a very nice but also sad story about faithfulness and being together in for better and for worse. It requires special kind of abilities from a person to be.

    Thank you for sharing :)

  • Yes are right Roman. Thanks
