Real woman - not some locked slave

Once upon a time somewhere in the western world existed women, who were independent, had own rights and could do whatever they wanted to do. Fairytale? No! This is reality of the world where I live, reality I would like to share with you :) In fact, I am pretty sure that my life is more hectic in comparison to woman, who doesn't work and sit the whole life at home and feel blessed that she is here for her family. As for me I am able to take care of two kids, to work five days a week, to take care of household -cook, bake, wash clothes, do ironing, clean this mess here etc., to meet family members, also friends time to time and to have fun and go for the trips at the weekends. Let me add that I have no baby-sitter and I have to organize everything by myself. Honestly speaking, I can't imagine myself the whole life staying home, just to cook, clean the mirror five times a day and when kids grow up...grrr...then I would literally die of boredom and stereotype. I also can't imagine my life without traveling, going for holidays, no matter if to the mountains or to the sea. This is how I live my life- to be good mom, to see something, to have fun with family, to be useful for the society I live in and to feel free like a bird. I can't imagine myself without all this freedom! It is something absolutely common that I can go out, whenever I want without asking for permission, I can travel alone, I can wear what I want and it is just my personal thing, I can make decissions alone without asking my parents or husband, I can marry whom I chose to marry, I can show my kids that world isn't just our block of apartments but out there, far away from our city, I can .... breatheeeee :)

  • Dear Luci! Wonderful writing!Women are not things they are humans with feelings..if all the woman in the world have the freedom they way you get..

  • Thanks Luci. I can 'breathe' reading your blog too.

  • Actually, I like the way how you look at your life, but not the way how you look at others' lives..

From the title, I can understand that you are so content about your own way of living and it's really something very positive and verygood.. but at the same time, I can also understand that you are trying to describe others' way of life; which is different from your own personal way; as locked slave's life, which I do not like it in your writings in general honestly..

Yes, there is your way of living.. and it's admirable... and there is another ways of living which is also admirable..

Thanks for sharing your life experience :)

  • Dear Luci, Lovely blog!

I like the way you express yourself with out stopping, I can see the words flow from your heart.

I would like to say to the men, those who control women

'If you love someone, set them free'.

I was born and brought up in an environment where women were treated as second class, and now I am living in an environment where women are treated equally. I feel sorry for my mum, grandma and all my relatives who experienced  inequality in their lives. But things are changing now, women starts to enjoy their equality and freedom in their lives because of education.

Thank you for sharing your lovely thoughts with us dear Luci.

  • Dear Luci, what a nice writing! I am pretty much the same as you. I am mother of two kids and my husband is a gentleman who let me do whatever I like and enjoy.I am so lucky.
The other night we had a group discussion. The topic was ' feminism discriminates against men'. I said that I don't agree with this statement because feminism was a social movement which support women to have the same right as men. All through the history we women have been deprived from our rights and feminism has helped women a lot. A woman can be a grear doctor, teacher or engineer and a great mom and wife too. It should be her own decision.
  • Wow......your freedom is very much enviable, dear!

While reading your blog Luci, Proverbs 31:10-31 came into a view.  If you come to read this book from the Bible, you'll come to know what I mean.

One time, I watched the answer and question portion of a certain beauty pageant contest.  A question was extracted from one of the judges and it went like this "What is the essence of a woman?"

If that contestant read your blog, she would have an idea of what to throw as her best answer.

Gee, you are indeed one lucky girl!
