Ramadan (Fasting) and Muslim

Fasting is another unique moral and spiritual characteristic of Islam.Fasting mean to obtain completely form food drink and intimate intercourse and smoking, before the break of the dawn till sunset, during the whole month of the Ramadan.Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and it consist 29 or 30 days.it intended to teach Muslims about patience, spirituality, humility and submissiveness to ALLAH,and Muslims fast for the sake of ALLAH.

It has been enjoined on us so that we may become pious. A pious Muslim and Muslimah does whatever Allah and His Messenger have  told them to do. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

"O you who believe! Observing As-Sawm (the fasting) is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqoon (the pious)? [al-Baqarah 2:183]

And Allah says in a hadeeth qudsi:

"Fasting is for Me and I will reward for it.

He gives up his desire and his food and

                                drink for My sake."

                                                                                  Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 7492; Muslim, 1151.

Though all parts of Ramadan are full of blessings and rewards, its last ten days hold a special status reflected in the recommendations and practices of the Messenger of Allah, salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam, and his companions.
