You know, I have been there twice... yes, twice I visited this nice, modern city with cool architecture. The avenue I walked in the past became today a place, where several people lost their lives. Touristic very attractive La Rambla avenue heading to the Columbus monument was covered by blood and dead bodies... families, kids, couples, tourists, local people... again the same weapon - again the van hitting the pedestrians.This time they chose Spain, this time it was Barcelona. What's going to be the next? Again Paris? London or Bruxelles?It looks like Europe will never be the same and people will never feel 100% save in the big cities because one never knows, who is going to kill them just because they were at the wrong place at the wrong time. It is very sad to watch it, to imagine pain of all the relatives, deep wounds that won't be easily cured.I wish it all was just a dream but it isn't - it is reality, which changed many lives, plans, reality which we can't overlook and believe that something somehow would one day stop it...Rest in peace all the victims of terrorist attacks ;(
RIP....Countless refugees have migrated from Syria, Iraq, Libya and other near by countries to Europe without keeping a check on them. some of them are ISIS terrorists. it was bound to happen. unfortunately Europe will never be the same .
Elen.. my opinion is the same like yours and unfortunately this is what they want - to make us damn scared! My friend also went to London, another went to Paris - I wouldn't go at all..unfortunately for me the list of places I wanna see in Europe got shortened :/
Oh Luci, this question comes to my mind too. What's going to be the next? A friend of mine will travel to Amsterdam in two months for a concert, and I adviced her to be very careful. We discussed this topic for a while and in the end she told me "What to do? You can't just sit in your house because maybe something bad will happen". Another person, that I see often in work, will travel to England. I told him to be careful because of terrorism and what he told me is: "Oh, no, this is far away from me". I wouldn't go if I were in their place. You can't know if it is far away from you. All things seem natural till a terrorist atack happen and then... This is so so sad...
It is one more terrible tragedy added to a long list of horrific attacks by very sick and demented people. Our hearts are heavy with sadness for the families that lost loved ones in Barcelona.
That's right Luci, sometimes I do think this is normal in this mortal world, human beings have been fighting with each other for thousand years, and what we see nowadays just a small part of it. We, of course can't do anything to reduce the scale of this unseen planned violance.
Bad politicians, bad religion leaders are always behind these evil actions, the poor and uneducated people always become the Martyrs. I saw a movie last night and I do remember a sentence , " Population increases, society is devided, and wars spread ", that's what we are watching now. Hopefully, someday all the human beings will realize that this life is just a short journey, make this journey colourful, beautiful and full of peace, by doing so, the peace will spread, NOT the war.
In our country all TV channels keeping breaking news about Spain and after watch the news feeling very pain in my heart. Don't understand why terrorist killing innocent people? Very sorry to hear this news. Thanks for sharing dear Luci ma'am.
