Practice yoga & rejuvenate with it

June 21 -International Yoga Day: The World Bows to Yoga:

YOGA : LIFE IN BALANCE

It was a boost to the practice of yoga, when our prime minister, Narendra Modi called for the observance of World Yoga Day on June 21st every year in the UN general assembly address. He called it “India’s gift to the world.”

Yoga – The Natural Immunity Booster

Antibiotics and other medicines do help the body recover from the disease but they don’t help improve the body’s immunity. Yoga, perhaps, is one of the most effective and time-tested natural immunity boosters that we can adopt for a healthier life. It is an ancient art that strengthens the body and also relaxes the mind.

The Day is Here!

Though it was practiced all over the world, it only gained an international importance when June 21st was declared to be celebrated as the world yoga day in the United Nations general assembly and was accepted by more than 177 countries which included Muslim nations.

Practice yoga & rejuvenate with it  : it can make you feel active, energetic and positive.  It enriches the consciounceness and make one alert, aware and active. Live life to its full potential.

(Indian in origin) = A system of exercise for the body that involves breath controls and helps relax both your mind & body.

A hindu philosophy which aims to unite the self  with the spirit of the universe

Yoga is just not for the body it is also for the mind.

The Yoga Way of Life!

Derived from the Sanskrit word yuj, Yoga means union of the individual consciousness or soul with the Universal Consciousness or Spirit. Yoga is a 5000 year old Indian body of knowledge. Though many think of yoga only as a physical exercise where people twist, turn, stretch, and breathe in the most complex ways, these are actually only the most superficial aspect of this profound science of unfolding the infinite potentials of the human mind and soul.

Yoga for All

One of the beauties of the physical practice of yoga is that the poses support and sustain you no matter how old or young, or fit or frail, you come to your mat. As you age, your understanding of asana becomes more sophisticated. You move from working on the external alignment and mechanics of the pose to refining the inner actions to finally just being in the asana.

Yoga has never been alien to us. We have been doing it since we were a baby! Whether it is the Cat Stretch that strengthens the spine or the Wind-Relieving pose that boosts digestion, you will always find infants doing some form of yoga throughout the day. Yoga can be many things to many people. “Yoga Way of Life!”

Surya Namaskar & it’s Benefits

Without Sun, there will be no life on Earth. Surya Namaskar or Sun Salutation is a gesture of gratitude to the Sun – which is the reason of all life force on our planet. Surya Namaskar is a set of 12 fixed cyclic movements (asanas), which bring body, breath and mind together – a stepping stone that can help you go deep in meditation.

Surya Namaskar postures act as a nice link between warm-ups and asanas and can be done any time when you have an empty stomach. However, morning is considered to be the best time for Surya Namaskar as it revitalizes the body and refreshes the mind, making us ready to take on all tasks of the day. If done in the afternoon, it energizes the body instantly and if done at dusk, it helps you unwind. When done at a fast pace, Surya Namaskar is an excellent cardiovascular workout and a good way to lose weight.

  • Hello, i don't like yoga so much because its moves are too slow for me. I prefer more quick exercises. Anyway is it true that yoga has to do with your religion? Is it something like prayer? I read it somewhere and i am just wondering...
