Oh Ghost!!

Do you believe that ghosts exist? I believe in Ghosts and I'm sure some of you may believe. It's a real experience which I experienced this May.

My home is at the edge of a river. The river exactly is behind the house. My bedroom is near the kitchen. Every morning I can open the window to see the river and the landscape. It's not so beautiful because the river has been polluted, but the morning air can still be enjoyed.

One day, my dad told me that one of his female employee from his office would stay for a few days at home. So my dad would make a bed for two people in my room. One above one below. I was very happy, it meant there would be a roommate for me. The next day my dad put some boards to make the bed. However,he was busy, he could not finish it in one day.And he postponed it to be completed the next day.

That night I slept in the bed under the unfinished bed. As usual, after the completion of all my works, I took my tablets and started playing the game while waiting for sleep to come. Then I fell asleep and forgot to turn off the light of my bedroom. I slept very soundly until awakened by my alarm clock. It was at 5 am. I had to get up and carry out the dawn prayers. At 5:15 am, I finished and returned to my bed. I knew I should not sleep again after the dawn prayer but I could not restrain my sleepiness so I decided to sleep again for a while and I did not turn off the lights.

I hoped I would not be late for making breakfast for my family. I didn't know how long I've been asleep, I felt there was something strange, the light was blinking and I looked up and aaaaaaaaaaaaaa ......... ...a strange figure was on the unfinished bed above me, its legs was dangling and its head was towards me, white ....white like smoke. I quickly closed my eyes, I read all the prayers that I ever knew but I felt my body was stiff and I could not move and my prayer readings were stammered. I did not know how long I laid and closed my eyes. And I heard my mom knocked on the door. I forced myself to open my eyes. I opened my eyes slowly, the figure was gone and I immediately jumped off my bed, opened the door and hugged my mom. She was surprised and she asked me what happened and why I was shaking. I could not say anything then she took me to the dining room, gave me a glass of water. After drinking I said a prayer and I felt calm. I told her what had happened. She said I had to pray and believe that if we were good and we never bothered them (the ghosts), they would not bother us.

But I did not understand, I've been living in this house since I was a baby. What was wrong? Why? Was it because I was asleep after the dawn?, or perhaps because of the new bed?. Or did the ghost want to see how beautiful I was on my sleeping :D lol?.  Or Did the ghost only want to take a rest after a long journey and saw the empty unfinished bed above me?. So many questions were unanswered.

After that I obviously asked my dad to take off the unfinished bed and I asked him to make a single large bed for us.

This experience is real and it still haunts my mind. It's made me stopped sleeping after waking up at the dawn.

  • David,

    Thank you,

I wish I can write some more but this time I choose to put comments or likes for some blogs. I have a bunch of ideas but again my mood is flying away, so I am waiting for it to come back.

I am collecting many information's for my writing first while waiting for my best mood.

  • You're welcome, Grace!

I feel pleased that my comment has been of benefit!

Popular beliefs are almost the same everywhere. I used to think like that about ghosts, but, thank God, I've found the truth about everything in life! :)

Btw, that thing of 'going to work before the sunrise and going home after the sunset' makes a lot of sense for sure! I mean, one can make a lot of money by doing that, right? :)

Thanks a lot for sharing such a nice story with us, right? Hope you'll come up with some more in the near future...

    See ya 'round!

  • David Monteiro thank you. Your valuable comment has improved my knowledge. I think you are right, it may be jinn not a ghost. What I know here is the custom in my society , it is believed thatsaid  ple should not sleep after the dawn prayer because it is assumed as laziness. Our popular saying is "Go to work before the sun rise and go home after the sun set".

About what is written in Qur'an for sure can not be denied. What Imams said must be true. I know that

    Thank you

  • Great post, great topic!

It gave me the creeps cuz, well, from time to time, I go thru some crazy stuff like that… So I think that it is possible to happen...

But, according to my beliefs, it was a jinn, not a ghost. I mean, the definition of the word ‘ghost’ is basically "the soul of a dead person, a disembodied spirit, usually as a vague, shadowy or evanescent form, as wandering among or haunting living persons" (source: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/ghost?s=t).

But religiously speaking, a dead person cannot go back to haunt us, to do us any harm etc. It’s impossible! They’re just not allowed to do that! (I suppose – based on the prayer part in your story – that you're a religious person and may agree with me on that, don’t you? No problem if you don’t… :) )

I’d also like to point out that in relation to a person’s sleeping after praying Fajr, according to some Imams, as they've said in ‘The Deen Show’ for example, there’s no text (of Qur’aan or hadeeth) that has been reported to indicate that this is prohibited, so the general principle applies (i.e., everything is permitted, except that which has been expressly forbidden). What ya think? (I suppose you’re a Muslimah, aren't you? That's why I'm giving you those examples. But please forgive me if I’m mistaken.)

To sum up, I think you did the right thing when you sought refuse in God! So don’t be afraid of ghosts anymore... Just put your trust in God, strongly believe in Him, and nothing bad will ever happen to you! He's powerful enough to protect you from anything bad you can possibly imagine, right? It just depends on your faith... :)

Well, that’s it… May God’s peace and grace be with you, Grace! :)

  • I will Shawki, thank you very much

  • do not tell your roommate plz :) and do your prayer before a sleep

  • Thank you Tara. I will be more careful using the word "believe" and you are right that I should put some blank spaces and paragraphs.

    Thanks again for the corrections

  • Ooh, very creepy! Great post. I love how you filled your story with suspense for your readers. If you add some paragraphs and blank spaces, it will be easier to read.

    Re corrections:

Be careful with "believe" and "believe in".

    I believe that ghosts exist.

I believe in ghosts. (I think ghosts exist.)

If you say "I believe ghosts" that means you believe what ghosts tell you. For example:

Ghost: If you don't make your bed, you will die young, Grace.

Grace: Okay, okay! I believe you.

    Dad: What's wrong?

Grace: A ghost told me that if I don't make my bed I will die young.

Dad: That's a lie. Don't believe the ghost. You will live a long life. Besides, I don't believe in ghosts.

  • Thank you for the comment Seeker, This is my real experience and I want to share with everyone here and practice my writing. Psychological or illusions? I can't explain it and I don't know because it never happened before in my house. Still afraid? Yes, I am. But I believe my God will always protect me.

  • I would be glad to do that Setareh lol. Now, I pray a lot before sleeping and hurry up awake when the dawn comes. And I never tell my roommate about this. And please don't tell her :)
