I read all comments along with Chomsky’s article not because
I am interested to participate in this topic, rather to see this community
thinking.
Then I asked myself the question: How can I help?
Fairly recently I learned about an English phrase:
“Opinion is like an asshole, everybody has one”.
Not to voice mine, I came up with the idea of constructing constructive questions instead:
(today) and other negative topics like this?
Now extending the circle to Humanity, yes I see the relevance and frankly this is the category where I placed “My English Club”. However may I inform / remind you about a higher level thinking that focuses on POSITIVE change and not fueling negativity by any means of discussions of opinions. There are better ways of dealing with the problems.
Can you think of any?
Narendra, To me , there is nothing reason to support or to have soft corner in my mind for Bin Laden.
But there is a hidden answer ,why people love him, in creation of human race by evolution.
For surviving their own idea as well as their group, they have to support their group's people. This trend we find every aspect of our life. I love my brother more than another unknown people even if unknown person better than my brother. because my brother is in my family group. Very few people can be out of the this trend.
If any one allow to kill babies, women and old people who are not involve on the issue, at least he is not human or his brain has been completely ruined by virus of faith. My view is both Bush and Laden lost their humanity. I want to ask the people who support Laden and Bush, do you think there is no alternative way to solve the problem without killing innocent people? Our ancestors had been used this killing theory for thousands years. Now the time to change our mind to stop blind support of killers.
Every religion directly or indirectly allows to kill other religious people. All most all religions have been stopped thinking, discussing and publishing of their violent verses except Islam. As Laden is Muslim, so definitely their supporter will ignore his crime.
We have to make decision-religions came for human or human came for religions?
Laden is the man who started the new era of violence. Nobody knows when this ere will be ended.
Noam said in the article there is nothing evidence with Obama that Laden was associated with deadly Twin Tower attack. I am not commenting about that. But there is no doubt that he inspired people to do that. Because of his encouraging, people can do the crime. That means he is a criminal too. Besides he was a chief of Al-kiada and Al-kiada agreed many bloody terrorists incidents. So honestly nobody can tell he was a innocent.
To me,both Laden and Bush are criminal. But I can not accept to kill laden without court trial ( Like the topic of Josef’s article). American solders could captured him easily and could sent him in trial. They did not try to do it. Their plan was clearly for killing. There is nothing rule to kill anyone like this way in any part of the world. American can proof him as a war criminal in many ways. But why have they decided to kill him?
Even , did America get more benefit to kill rather than capture? If he was captured, America could get more information from him and could find out other terrorists. Do you think America is stupid? Or do you think they were not capable to capture him from that ground?
After the news of killing him, America gave many self contradictory announcements. We all know about that.
So, there is big question-
WHY DON’T WE BELIEVE THAT LADEN STILL IS ALIVE IN AMERICAN CUSTODY?

there is so many confusing question about Osama....if he planned the bombing as said give in detail please with proof.. IF he was a mass murderer I will not side him .Even the accused has the right to be proved guilty....

This is nice and fair Article, I agree with most of what Chomsky said. Yet, Bin ladin done some mistakes, and we all have seen his mistakes. Killing Innocent people was a great sin, and a black page in his life. But it might be some sort of mystery covers his actions, I feel there is a cut, copy and paste behind all this, there must be some players directing this unstabled, unfinished & unsettled film.
Why we all never live in peace? is it the money that cause all this, or the reason of balancing the powers on earth?, or a fear of a religion?. Mankind is thinking in a strange way, sometimes you feel a jungle is more merciful & safer to live in than our modern civilized world.
