NEVER A BORROWER NOR A LENGER BE.

Mark Twain , the American humorist , was a man of many skills. He was once a steam boat pilot on his beloved Mississippi River. Later he became a newspaper reporter , editor, and a writer. His best and most popular works are " Tom  Sawyer" and "Huckleberry  Finn", set on the Mississippi River.

Everyone told funny stories about Twain's humorous encounters . He was a great lover of books and one story is connected with this love of his. One day he was in the library of a wealthy friend , a neighbour was a collector of books , and he was very selfish with his books. He had many rare books in his library , and he cared  more about books than he did for his friends . One day Twain saw a rare book which interested him, and he asked the wealthy man:

"Sir , I'd like to read this book . May I borrow it for a while?"

The selfish friend answered ," You may borrow it, of course, but don't take it away. You can read it in my library."

MarkTwain didn't like the answer but said nothing.

One day some time later , The wealthy neighbour came and asked Twain , "May I borrow your lown mower ? Mine is broken."

Twain answered without hesitating , "Certainly, but you'll have to use it in my garden."
