Have you ever heard of Natural family planning or you have no clue, what does it stand for? Let me bring up this topic as I consider it something very important and also kind of compromising, when it comes to rejecting birth control pills or using other methods thanks to the religious, health or other issues.
Well, firstly let me tell you that natural family planning is here from two reasons. First one - to find the best days woman can get pregnant, second one - to avoid days woman can get pregnant as the couple doesn't want right at this moment a baby. In my opinion it is smart to plan family because if we don't care and just produce more and more kids like unctrollable animals... what happens? In case we are not that rich - of course we won't be able to afford many things and our life standard will decrease, we won't be able to feed own hungry kids and we can just dream about their good education. On one hand religious people might opose that baby is God's blessing, on the other hand let me ask: "Is God's blessing to live in poority with seven little kids, who have to beg on the streets? Is blessing to let own kid die because we have no money? Is this blessing life people dream of?"
You know, Christianity used to be too strict but lately, some decades ago in 1968 Pope Pavel VI. came up with the special documments (Encyclica Humanae Vitae) discussing marriage and also method of using fertile and non-fertile days. Of course, I m not talking about birth control pills or abortion, which doesn't go with the word „natural“ in the title of this blog but about those suitable and not suitable days that we choose for having or not having a baby. Honestly, I just think, if people around the world would be informed more at least about something like this - it would decrease poverty in the world. As for something called Fertility Awareness - it is for free and if woman knows her body pretty good, the only one thing you have to know is... counting!

LOL.....I see this has opened what we call a "can of worms". I find a lot of these comments difficult to believe.......but yet......usual. Luci.....I agree with you that planned parenthood is certainly better.......I do not believe in abortion, pills can be dangerous, but some form is needed. As far as the religious aspect.......God cannot be happy about you bringing a child into the world for it to starve......or live in squalor although, I cannot say that is the only problem children of today face and it is not only in a few countries.....unfortunately abuse can be found in all. I will also say......when you have children you cannot afford.......that is abuse. Pure and simple. Make any excuse you would like.......but it is what it is. I could go on and on.....but I won't.......for it does branch off into other areas........Good blog Luci.....but I will say one thing.......there is no such word as poority. I am thinking you meant poverty......but just in case it wasn't a typo.......but I loved your blog.....I am not sure how successful this type birth control can be.......but it certainly can't hurt, especially if it will save a child from a terrible existence.

I think here we can just agree to disagree :D As for cow's milk importance there were some latest researches with the results that it isn't as nutrition as it was considered in the past and for the adults it even has not such big positive influence. I said that the most important is to breastfeed baby till it is six months old, however not every mom is so gifted when it comes to milk quantity. On the other hand I have never heard of something like there are some STUDIES in people who haven't been breastfeeded for two years and on the basis of it they became mentally and physically sick :o :-D Sorry but here I have to laugh because my friend breastfeeded longer than me her son and guess what? Both of our kids are sick the same. Many kids also reach the age, when they are not interested in drinking mom's milk - what do you do there with them so that they wouldn't be mentally and psychologically sick? And the last thing I had no idea about is...that if a man is fully breastfeeded and follow islamic rulez then he can't become impotant - sorry but I have to ask: "Who are those people, who told you such things?" To be impotant is related to low level of production hormons such as testosterone and prolactin and brestfeeding has nothing to do with something like this...

She gave birth to a total of 69 children – sixteen pairs of twins, seven sets of triplets and four sets of quadruplets – between 1725 and 1765, in a total of 27 births. 67 of the 69 children born were said to have survived infancy. Vassilyev also had six sets of twins and two sets of triplets with a second wife, for another 18 children in eight births; he fathered a total of 87 children.
If to compare with Vassilyev's record, to have seven kids isn't so scary
As for your reply to my second comment, there are eight type of unemployment. There is no any kind of unemployment for a self reliable person.
If a husband is financially strong enough and has no hindrance in catering to his children all necessity of life, yet reluctant to increase number of children, but contradictory to this, wife desires for more children. Then what to do?
Concerning the mother's health, there is dire need to make a family planning, but what can a man do when the mother, herself, desires to have more children? :D can you suggest what to do in this case?
